Hi there, I just installed your desktop wallet on the elementary OS. I have created and activated an account via that app. It works great! I have a few questions:

1) Is it mandatory to register and log into rippex via the web?

2) I am planning to use it as a cold storage. Here is what I am gonna do: buy some XRP on gatehub, transfer to rippex desktop wallet, and turn off the online connection in the wallet. Is it the right way to do it?

Please let me know. Thank you.

Hello RafOIP I'm from Brazil and very happy about Rippex services.

Do you know how many people are using the Ripple network here? Will we have more liquidit on the Rippex gateway along time? I've noticed that, for now, its difficult to trade or even sell my position for BRLs if I need. Its easy to get IN on the market but looks it is not easy to get OUT for a reasonable price. (Spreads are much higher). I dont want to leave the market because I'm here for long term, but my question is if it will improve along time. Im concerned with the fact that if prices go to high in the future we will have liquidit to exchange BRLs...

Other doubts: Do you know how the things with Ripple shoud start here in our contry... maybe banks, or via eletronic payments, any deal with e-commerce sites. Dont know if you could tell something (and I always think that we have the founder of PagSeguro) but its a pleasure if you do.

Anyway thanks for your services and good luck for Rippex and Ripple in Brazil!!!

Do you require KYC for BTC holders or users of the BTC bridge?

Yes, for deposits and withdrawals we do. We have to comply with our legal framework. Although we do believe there are people like you that use privacy just for the sake of it, anonymity opens the door for a lot of undesirable use cases.

1 - For deposits and withdrawals you need to create a Rippex account to create the links between accounts.

2 - Cold storage means storing coins in an account that had no contact with the internet, the account creation process is what matters most. Please see some other topics explaining this. Here is a link for one of them:

Thank you for the feedback, it's been a pleasure to serve incredible people like you that are exploring all these new markets and moving things forward. Now we are open to the entire community.

1 - We are working to improve liquidity. We have passed a long period of disbelief on XRP and RCL caused mainly by a misinterpretation of Ripple's pivots. Now that the path is getting clearer, activity is growing. Just like you, we are here for the long run!

2 - "Other doubts" - What I can say is that we have other projects under development that will be deployed this year, and they are very cool :). Please keep an eye on us. RIpple usage will grow, no doubt about that.

Thank you all for your feedbacks, please keep saying!

KYC is legally mandated for any size of BTC transaction in Brazil? Interesting. To me this hardly sounds like the "bridge" that was previously active on RippleTrade operated by Bitstamp, which allowed sending coins to arbitrary BTC addresses. In your implementation it is not even possible to pay for something you want to buy with BTC, since the withdrawal address is fixed, right? All in all it is just an automated hot wallet setup with a fixed payout address for your existing customers.

Not any size, but including anonymous transactions limited to tiny amounts is not worthy in this implementation.

You are right, this service is not designed for small retail payments (like paying a bitpay invoice). I know for a long time that you don't think KYC is a good thing and that your country's privacy rights are very different from the majority of the jurisdictions - and I think it is great if it works there - but applying the same rules globally is not feasible.

Bitstamp stopped the bridge (i believe) because it was an easy way to launder money.

IDK what you meant with "automated hot wallet setup" but yes, It is a bridge for for those who have a verified account with us.
