Happened for a whole month.

I feel like it was a production test.  maybe setup to prove to a doubting Thomas what volume in the real world looked like???

Perhaps some big potential customers wanted to be sure the ledger could handle a higher throughput for the duration of a month in the real world instead of some testledger before signing a deal ;)

I don't think this is spam at all. If you look at the transactions, you see many transactions that pay well over the minimum transaction fee. Here's one that burned 0.01 XRP. This means that the sende

Perhaps someone is testing the capabilities of the XRPL now Lightning network appears to suck. Suspicious in a bad way or something we should applaude?

7213/589 = 12.24  Obviously this means XRP will be $589 on Christmas Eve.

They claim 3ktps. But I'm a bit skeptical. But for sure they are pumping more transactions than xrpl.

Wow....there has to be a real reason for this.

Dumb question... Yes I feel like this is a safe place to ask a dumb question....

Could the BTC be used on the XRPL for crossboarder payments (utilizing BTC instead of XRP and just burn XRP for the fee of transport?)

Yes but btc is slow and fees are not reliable. The only advantage right now would be that btc has better liquidity

xrapid could in theory be implemented with any coin imho .

I think it is no spam. In my opinion a real company is building btc on xrpl.

Wonder that until now no one has bought the 100 BTC.

clearly it's spam. every time it activate new accounts and send 50btc to new accounts,  how can this be real.

Ok, looks like the pattern is:

Each time rpJZ5WyotdphojwMLxCr2prhULvG3Voe3X activate 2 new account A,B.

A create BTC trustline to rpJZ5WyotdphojwMLxCr2prhULvG3Voe3X

B create BTC trustline to A

rpJZ5WyotdphojwMLxCr2prhULvG3Voe3X send BTC to A

A send BTC to B

then every 2~3 minutes, B send BTC to A and A send back to B.

repeat above to activate 2 more accounts

now rpJZ5WyotdphojwMLxCr2prhULvG3Voe3X has activated over 1100 accounts.
