Come on now, we can disagree without being petty. Who hasn't accidentally called Jed Jeb? What is Jed even short for?

Oh, apparently Jebediah and Jedediah are versions of the same root name. So Jed and Jeb are both etymologically correct nicknames for Mr. McCaleb (assuming his given name comes from the biblical one).

When you misspell someone's name it implies your respect for them.  It wasnt intentional but kinda true.  I was drawn in by the integrity of Ripple (with the little that I know) until I ran into Jeb....poophead.   His history leaves me thinking Ripple was founded by at least one scoundrel (I hope I spelled that correctly).

I do believe the price can rise through his huge mega sell, but it doesnt stand much chance with the lawsuit hanging over its head.  Looks to me like a broker is just pumping and selling and the rest of us are waiting for the lawsuit to take a course.  Someone is buying, but I dont believe any buyer wants the price to skyrocket.

If I was a betting person...must be if I'm in crypto... then it would make sense that SBI is buying it all up.  XRP is highly undervalued based on speculation of its final use(s).  SBI would be the company who has an original stake and has all the ties to banks and XRP to see the future most clearly.  I dont think XRP has the cash to buy it back nor would they want to burn what cash they have.

My biggest problem with XRP which seemingly is unlike other coins is that is ALWAYS fails to hold any gains it makes. Look around at any other token in the space and they mostly go up, consolidate for a while and then move up again. XRP is a great coin for the non true believers. Very easy to trade as you know after a leg up it is coming straight back down.

I have shifted large amounts of $ in the last 6 months for many reasons, but ultimately the SEC case was the clincher. I do not know what will happen with Ripple / XRP as no one else does but I do know that the promise of its true potential have been dealt a severe blow. The Moneygram relationship ending was terrible from a PR perspective. It signals to the world that their technology did not work out as hoped. I still have a sizeable portion of XRP but have transferred that to others which have performed exceptionally.

As an experiment, I placed $10k each (in a Blockfolio account) on May 17 last year with the following results:

BTC up 964% - $96,400

ETH up 987% - $98,700

VET up 2200% - $220000

ADA up 2678% - $267,800

XRP up 80% - $18,000

I think the lesson we can all learn is that never place all your bets on the one horse. Great if you are right (and we still might be) but painful when you are not.

I think that plenty of people on this board diversified in the last cpl of years. I think it’s not wise to have all of your eggs invested in one pot.

(well done @dr_ed you were a big proponent of VET if I remember correctly)

@WarChestMany have diversified but many still cling to theories espoused by the likes of Brad Kimes and DAI. Everyone has their own reasoning but it is obvious now that XRP is one of the most unattractive speculative buys in crypto.

Just a short story. I have been diversifying for 6 months now and had a friend who wanted to get into crypto. Heard about XRP but I steered him away (sick of people being pissed off at me). He put $50K in AMB, CHR, TEL, COTI, DAG and LTX. He is up over 1000% on his original investment with little knowledge of what they do. I know this is casino mindset but coins with ultra low market caps (< $10million) are flying now. XRP with over $26Billion (AUD) is just not as enticing. XRP would need to go to $260B MC to achieve the same return. I personally cannot see that happening any time soon (but I do hope so).

I won’t argue with any of that. Everyone must make their own decisions.

Well said.

I feel the same way.

FWIW I held XRP from Nov 16 - about a year ago because it was the best project on the planet.  Maybe still is, but its an awful investment.

I fell out of love when the promises from Ripple started sounding hollow to me, moved into VET and made a five figure profit.  I'm glad I no longer have an aleigence because I'm making money where I see the opportunity.

Respect to everyone hanging on - I hope it pays off but I'm too old to wait.  For others there's a ton of low cap coins that reap rewards.  Dip your toes in.

Good luck!

Alts MC over 668 billion. ADA as alts compass is shooting up fast.

What's next? All alts going up big together, BTC.D going to the dumpster?

After that do you think it's still that some alts lift off first and others follow

Or all of them rise very fast at the same time?

ps seems now ADA is the spearhead altcoin instead of ETH.
