Gatehub Phishing mail (or Gatehub s stupid)

Recommended Posts

Just received a mail from Gatehub, see below.
I am not sure if this is phishing mail, otherwise Gatehub must be realy stupid to send a secret key by mail.

I just transfered all XRP from Gatehub to Kraken.

Dear GateHub Customer,

This message is to warn you of a recent security incident relating to our platform and Ripple Gateway that we provide.

Recently, we have been notified by our customers and community members about funds on their XRP Ledger wallets being stolen and immediately started monitoring network activity and conducted an extensive internal investigation. An outline of the security incident can be found here: https://gatehub.net/blog/gatehub-update-investigation-continues/

We have reason to believe that your ripple wallets’ security may have been compromised. Therefore, in order to maintain the security of your funds, we need you to act now!

We need you to follow the below steps in order to safeguard your funds. Any other wallets used are still at risk and so we urge our customers to follow the below steps:

Change your login password and enable 2-Factor Authentication for your GateHub account and safely store the 2FA backup code (instructions available on our support page),

We have created a new secure hosted wallet for you to safely store your funds without any risk of theft. Below are the details for the wallet:
    Wallet Address: r9V1Sz1ZSHC1ApwD1rdN71HWjPaLGWPZAX
    Secret key: snW1Tfj7UBpwJ7cqZQtvn1eJeP6sA

Transfer funds from your current compromised ripple wallet(s) to your newly secured ripple wallet address created by GateHub(instructions available on our support page)

In order to import your new wallet (instructions available here):
Go to “WALLET”
“New Wallet” (+ icon to your upper left)
Select “Import”
Type in your GateHub password if prompted
Insert the above wallet secret key.

We strongly advise that you make a note of the above information so that you can refer to it later if necessary.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused. We will keep you updated with any new developments.

For any additional questions, please contact us through our customer support service found on our website.

Sincerely,
GateHub Team

lol, fair enough.....

but you do make a good point when you point the arrow in RED!!!!

Warning Warning Warning..... warnings are in red!!

But in reality, now that I step back and envision a red "warning" it invokes a sense of panic.... green is better...
