Ripple Enters Partnership With GMT

Even as the crypto market searches for a bottom, Ripple continues to make major expansion moves across the globe. The company recently made a move in Israel by entering into a partnership with the 5th largest financial institution in the world and the largest bank in Israel, GMT. This is all in a bid to boost the financial industry there and consolidate the company’s dominance in the region.

GMT issued a public announcement stating that both companies share a similar philosophy and this has helped them to reach mutually beneficial terms after discussing in details. Part of the announcement was as follows:

AkBank In Turkey Starts Using Ripple’s xRapid technology (is this big news of a bank adopting XRapid really true?)

Quote

As Ripple cements it relationship with the financial institutions in Israel, it is also making moves in Turkey. One of the major banks in Turkey, AkBank, has just started using Ripple’s xRapid technology. Even if the launch of the technology was just announced, the project has been ongoing for more than 12 months.

i really do thing that all these garbage crypto blog posts need to go into a separate section of this forum that's almost hidden so that it doesn't pollute what we see as the latest forum threads. whenever i login, i look to see the latest forum threads and i see a headline that's interesting, only to see it links to one of these garbage blog sites. i almost know immediately it's trash, but sometimes still click the link in hopes of it being true with facts. after doing this time on time again over a prolonged period, it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth, which is why i try to stick to the zerpbox as much as possible. @karlos, do you have any suggestion here?

yes please ban these "news" sites, they are outright scams and fake news and lies

The problem with this approach is the same faced by those seeking to curb fake news everywhere: Who gets to decide what is news and what is junk/lies. This usually ends up simply being a small group imposing their biases on the rest. Not saying this is always necessarily wrong, but any group, even experts, will have biases that lead to blind spots. I think of crypto itself here. Not long ago, one might've found the same sentiment about any articles dealing with crypto or blockchain from the mainstream financial press. Just food for thought. I personally favor people putting up anything they wish. If the articles are garbage they are usually exposed as such by the fine community here quite rapidly. But at least they can be discussed on the (very) off chance there is a grain of wisdom tucked away inside.

Yeh its tricky because there are many clickbait articles that have no real substance.

But then we don't want moderators being judge and jury of what articles are "worthy" of showing up. I think moving the less reputable ones to Other Press is an ok compromise, you are always ignore that sub-forum. I'm very open to suggestions :good:

It's very simple and doesn't require moderator intervention. Some outlets have built a reputation, good or bad. If you aren't willing to take the article as fact, start searching for sources to back their claims.

One of two things will happen, you will find a credible source and do the "damn, that's cool" or you'll lose interest in trying to find information and forget what you were even looking for and likely the article with it.

As good or bad as this article is, it's piqued my interest and I'll search to see if there's anything to it. If there is, cool beans, if not, hey, a squirrel video!

I know they are in partnership but not heard anything of them using XRP

GMT is joining companies like MoneyGram, AmericanExpress, CIBC, Earthport, AKBANK and many more, who are already authorized to use Ripple’s platform.

This is interesting language. I'll have to agree with you. Not feeling the xrp thing. Additionally, I don't see the Turks saying anything about xrp specifically in their tweets either.
