Blockchain Corda Settler, Ripple and SWIFT a mariage a trois?

Recommended Posts

Quote

Late last year R3 launched its new Corda Settler platform using Ripple’s XRP. But here it comes. In January SWIFT announced a partnership with R3 were they are collaborating to test Corda Settler, specifically to “integrate gpi with Corda Settler.” However, as Corda Settler depends on the XRP token, the partnership puts SWIFT and Ripple, the two rivals in an indirect connection. Will that result in a love triangle or even a “marriage a trois”

Hi Carlo. thanks for taking the time to put together the post. I wanted to correct one (v important!) thing about the post. Corda Settler does not require the use of XRP. Corda Settler allows users to integrate and interact with other payment rails, both traditional and cryptocurrecy rails. XRP happened to be the first sample integration. The SWIFT work is not in any way associated with XRP. thanks

bad reporting IMO, the Settler does NOT "depend on" XRP in any form -- XRP is an optional "plugin" for it

The Corda Settler is an open source CorDapp that allows payment obligations arising on the Corda Network to be settled via any parallel rail supporting cryptocurrencies or other crypto assets, and any traditional rail capable of providing cryptographic proof of settlement.
