Ripple's employees dumping their stash?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

As everyone is already aware, SEC published a so called "Framework for Analysis of Digital Assets" document a few days ago.

I've read it diagonally and there were red flags for XRP everywhere. You may have a different interpretation though.

Because of this, some speculation came to light in the zerpbox, which I'm now bringing to the masses.

This is JoelKatz wallet address: https://bithomp.com/explorer/r3gRpQRDdu7pzPhM9nDmXMgskbJ6vwTDbB

Looks like he's been dumping his funds in coinbase recently.

If we look closer into his past, you'll notice this tweet of his promoting Ripple: https://mobile.twitter.com/JoelKatz/status/944292967811919872

Remember the "two household names"? Right around this time he dumped millions of XRP into bitstamp. Take a look into the bithomp transaction history above to confirm this.

We had a member of the community confronting him in twitter just today: https://mobile.twitter.com/DariStar2/status/1117634885332688897

I'm not keeping my hopes up that he'll reply though...

It was mentioned by another user that Nick Bougalis (working for Ripple, and good friends with Joelkatz) was doing the exact same thing, but no wallet address was posted (maybe someone else in this forum knows it).

And last, but not least, Joelkatz himself once stated that most Ripple employees had their bags either in cold storage or in Gatehub.

Well then, check this recent transaction history from one of the whales: https://bithomp.com/explorer/rHBJhToGaESqiV9K1wydyoSPZNn7K2CcM3

What conclusions can we make from this information?

Feel free to add anything I may have missed.

Regards,

pvap

I don't know what to think guys, JK sends 2.8million XRP to Coinbase, this is like 50% of his stash from this wallet!!!

Is some bad news coming out soon?

Selling on these prices is crazy if you don't know something bad is coming up!!!

Maybe you should read the Fed document in a normal way. That will help.

also the JoelKatz wallet address shows a 5 million xrp sale in 2016.... this so called ‘evidence’ has no ground at all...

By the way his name is Nik Bougalis..... and not Nick Bougalis, get your facts right my friend. The guy is a well respected

programmer within Ripple. What are you trying to pull here? FUD?

Hard to say what it's about - it is tax time though, so unloading some of your stash doesn't sound at all unreasonable to me. Looking back over the transactions throughout the years shows similar stuff, so I'm not concerned. Everyone expecting xrp to have taken off yesterday, has stirred up a lot of fears and insecurities, when in reality, the progress on so many fronts is actually hard to keep up with. People just don't want to hear that this might take another year or two to be reflected in the price, but the reality is that the potential for extraordinary appreciation is still there, it just takes some patience.

They just aren't gonna listen.  Let them work themselves into a frenzy.  It's not worth fighting.

Dude the last thing you put in was the gate hub to bitstamp transaction which we heard was the first using the ILP. So I don’t see what you are referring to as being bad.

My sentiments exactly!! You do what you want with your zerps who am I to help you make a decision.  If you claim what you have read and  interpreted to be facts by all means let it guide you on your journey..  It's not what we think but what you think all ways has been and if you can't think on your own at this point there is very little advice I can give you.  I even take the great @Hodor post with a grain of salt that is until I read them and the depth, detail and level of research  and credible sources that he provides to back things up makes me say "DAMN THIS IS GOOD STUFF!"   Your presenting movement activity with no actual sales, I moved a good portion of my zerps from BITSTAMP to COINBASE and most to a ledger can you tell me what I am doing?

Not only would that be insider trading, it would trash his reputation.  Maybe he want to sell some of his stash when the price goes parabolic?
