There is no real world use case for such a thing.  But seriously though, I suspect we will be able to tell when the trade volume on the XRP ledger starts to pick up and we WILL feel the effects. 

Swift is not going to use XRP through Corda, at least not for a few years. First of all the integration is proof of concept that will go on in September 2019 and is stated by R3 to be Fiat to Fiat. Se

Someone recently highlighted that at the time of the settlement there was a 1.2 Billion XRP transfer from XRP II.

That would perhaps be an appropriate settlement amount given price growth.

So my bet is they have 1.2 billion XRP.

So just think about that...  

Ripple sent R3 a stack of XRP worth say $400 Million Dollars and it went there irrespective of geography in around four seconds at a cost of a fraction of a cent!

Now tell me there is no real world use case for such a thing....    :)

If XRP reached $3 on a sole basis of retail speculation (no real utility at the time), just think when big money starts to invest. 

2019 will be very interesting, that's for sure.
