Does this affect ripple (the company ).. but doesn't R3 use XRP for settlement ?  thoughts ?

Yes my friend, R3 (& Corda settlement with XRP) can use XRP for settlement. It has been has been tested last year and as far as I know it is operational.

With this integration I expect all the SWIFT banks to be able to settle with XRP (via Corda settler) before the end of the year!

The sooner banks switch to crypto settlement, the sooner those trillions of dollars sitting idle on nostro accounts can be injected into XRP.

Banks emptying their nostro accounts could result in a bankrun of epic proportions, considering those trillions aren't really there.

That’s probably the last thing they will do. But funny suggestion. Hopefully this ‘free cash’ will find it’s way in proper investments helping to improve the stability of international banking.

After seeing their own clients do that and making massive gains?

Their XRP investment limit will be in sync with the needed liquidity and they will allways invest according to the needed diversification.

But true, some serious cash will flow into XRP this year :)

What seems to elude me on here is how we don't seem to get is that ripple is only competing with SWIFT in the terms of Xcurrent but as it relates to Xrapid and XRP SWIFT does not have a competing product, so why would it be far fetched for SWIFT to utilize Xrapid at some point in the future?   It does not mean the competition between the products they both have that do the same job will go away.  Is a automotive parts supplier typically only supplying to one brand if he is he's probably not in business that long?   Intel doesn't make processors for Dell only.
