Epic Pennant on BTC Chart

Well Bitcoin is shrugging off the selloff that happened at the end of last week, like it always does.  Expect volatility as we go up.

I've written it before and I write it again here, I wish I had the cash to buy XRP.  I am completely not worried about XRP missing out on Bitcoin's Bull Run.  XRP will have it's own run.  XRP moves on it's own and when it does those moves are crazy dramatic.  If you are missing out on Bitcoin's run I realize how frustrating XRP's price action has been, but the time to really buy Bitcoin was last year not now, granted if you buy Bitcoin here you can still see great gains, maybe even 10x+, but I doubt it gets higher than that.  XRP on the other hand has the possibility of moving 100x from here.  My strategy has always been to buy when things are down and few things are as down as XRP right now.  Is there a risk that nothing happens with XRP and you totally miss out, of course.  You don't get the possibility of a 100x return without significant risk, but if you want a sure thing, buy bonds.

For those that are curious as to what I am basing my opinion of XRP on -  it is solely based on XRP's past price action and the price action of the crypto market in general. I have zero inside info regarding XRP or Ripple and apart from my participation in this message board, I do not even know another person who even knows what XRP is.

Now buying XRP is what I would be doing, but I have a devil-may-care attitude toward investing and life in general.  I would rather lose $1million than miss out on making $10million, but that's me.

I agree fully with you but I have one question. Why don't you sell your BTC to buy XRP?

Well guys for those of you that got in late 2017, this is what the beginning of a Bull Market feels like.  There will be ups and downs of course, but it will get much crazier with much higher valuatio

Just taking the time to say a huge thank you to you @Eric123. I have been reading this thread daily for a long time now. I don't often sign in to post something so this thank you and acknowledgment of

I think I answered this before.  I am more confident in Bitcoin moving 5x to 10x higher than I am XRP moving 100x.  XRP is by no means a sure thing,  it wouldn't be potentially paying longshot odds if it was.  If Bitcoin's risk level is a 2, XRP's risk level is a 10. So yeah I'm willing to put some money into XRP - just not all my money into XRP.

Also although I'm not totally happy with the amount of XRP I currently have, it's quite a bit already.  XRP is the only position I would add to at the moment.  Granted dumping Bitcoin and putting it all in XRP would be the ballsy thing to do.

But why there's need on that? Diversifying is the best option (That's what I haven't learned for the past 3 years since holding).

Even better for him if XRP stay same price but BTC keep increasing. That way he will benefit even more than now. Spending spare money is the other thing than exchanging.

Eric123 keeps saying "if I had more money I'd buy XRP". Just trying to understand why he is not putting money where his mouth is, 'tis all. I'm not judging.

I think you just answered your own question. IF he had more money to invest he would but he doesn’t so he cannot

He has plenty of assets he could divest into XRP. Just because "he has no fiat" does not mean he could not sell BTC (or any other coin) and increase his exposure to XRP which is such a good buy at these levels. The bottom line is that he sees XRP as a very risky investment and he is too risk averse to make the jump. That's a rather important subtlety, don't you think?

No, because he already has enough XRP. If you’re a day trader or even a swing trader the sure, move between assets. But... if you’re not and you care about short term capital gains, and I know Eric is from the US then it doesn’t always make sense to swap if you’re going to pay a lot more in taxes

No offense, but I didn't ask you to explain his reasons. He gave the answer, by the way, you might want to read it and stop putting words in his mouth.

@Troote This has been totally answered.  You think it means something that I'm not taking out a mortgage on my house to buy more XRP??  BTW if we both stood on our stacks of XRP I guarantee looking down I wouldn't even be able to see the top of your head.

LOL you're close to going on ignore.

I asked a question because I was curious, and yes you answered. I am not judging your decision or suggesting you should do anything differently. I am not sure why you are upset, but whatever that is, I am sorry you feel that way.

This doesn't make sense - wouldn't you just need to expect XRP to move higher than BTC? If BTC moves 10x and XRP does 12x, that's a win.

Historically BTC seems to pump before XRP and it looks like BTC has more upside left, then it's XRP's turn to run, so swapping out now might be too early - if swapping was the intention. Just my personal take

Eric has already said he considers BTC a 2/10 risk factor, while XRP is closer to 10/10. He likes XRPs chances, but thinks BTC is a safer bet right this minute

Well, I totally understand him

For instance I converted some XRP into other shit-promissing-coins, I devirisified enough for me, now I slowly recreating my position in XRP and I wish I would have more cash. Its a risk management, if XRP shoot, I will get 25% less than before I devirsified, if XRP stays, I have 25% that will make me happy.

Something like that.

Already positioned into bitcoin. I am picking up the last of the ethereum that I wanted tomorrow (couldn’t procure funds in time for sub 1,000 recently). I am highly confident it will yield some returns at this point even though I’m buying later and pricey. ADA, VET, LINK bags are healthy. XRP is still the discounted capitulated shopper special for those who ever wanted to make a bigger splash. What else is left to buy that is a good deal? Moonshot micros??
