Guest
https://medium.com/interledger-blog/simplifying-web-monetization-871aee326170 Quote Since Coil’s launch, hundreds of sites have become web-monetized. It’s just a matter of adding a couple of scripts, and you can make money (through Interledger) for every Coil subscriber who visits your site. Based on feedback from these sites, we’ve decided to rework the Web Monetization standard, making it even simpler to use. The improvements and trade-offs are listed below. Hodor
Quote Security Loading external scripts into your site is a big risk. The previous version of Web Monetization required external scripts in order to work. For sites that dealt with sensitive data, it could be a deal-breaker. Web Monetization is now a static HTML tag. That means it can’t be used to compromise any sites. Nice! Thanks for the link @zerpdigger pucksterpete and NightJanitor

What Coil now needs is larger and more known, quality content sites with substantial user numbers, and Coil taking the market is a no-brainer. Strange that Coil accounts are not yet updated with the new code, and I had to go back to the old code, new meta tag doesn't seem to work yet... or it's a caching issue. Is there some site that shows all the Coil enabled sites? What site are you using/running that is using Coil? What is the basis for paying? Looks like only two major sites (Twitch and YouTube) make up the list, neither of which are confirmed. At first glance it looks like the majority of enabled sites are smaller/not US based but I could be wrong. Good news is this means a lot of potential upside if they get larger sites enabled.
