They are not dependant on one another....so, it really isn’t a fair question.

At some point (not for at least 18-24 months) we will enter a recession. During that recession, fundamentals of crypto will keep improving and the price will begin to go up.

A global recession MAY keep prices down lower than would be otherwise, but not likely to to a huge degree.

Money will leave equities into safer and inversely related assets such as bonds and precious metals. Wouldn’t this put buying pressure into store of value cryptocurrencies non other than yours truly, bitcoin? Would this in turn also bring buying pressure into many other cryptos?  Even better, can’t all this transfer between asset reallocations be facilitated with quick settlement and ultra low fees? :)

Pretty much this.

Yes, not necessary to make it more complex than it is.  Escaping to BTC or crypto in case of a recession is just BS imo. People do either need cash or flee into safe havens with their investments ( bonds/gold).  Crypto is somewhat volatile ( and that’s an understatement).

Pretty much you have no clue. Retail investors don't move markets. Whales do, and they do it to kick the little investors out to accumulate more assets or bring them in to rob them. Fed literally said they've inflated the stock market

Lol you think your mom and dad who live paycheck to paycheck moved xrp to 3.20?

Let's watch emerging economies over 2019.  Once enough collapse economically, and a few already have, this is when  every late cycle -turns into a new cycle- and appetites for higher risk and yield begin to take hold.  No one else has to agree (that's fine), but this is the key indicator I'm looking at in anticipation of large money flowing into this brand new emerging asset. Another multi-year run will be born.  That's why the infrastructure is being rushed in being built- for large money now, and then a few years down the road for retail investors who get in later once they feel it's "safe".

If a recession occurs I would suspect. 1. The Fed would lower interest rates - good for crypto, 2. The Fed would provide some kind of stimulus - good for crypto.  The US would run much larger fiscal deficts to try to reflate the market  and the economy- good for crypto. Obviously the economic contraction created by the recession would not be good for any asset other than the dollar but the most likely reaction to the recession would be good for crypto.

Looks like it's close to 50/50 on how the price would be affected. Hope we don't find out lol. I'd hate to see another 2008 recession or worse. Yikes!

A lot of malinvestment into the stock market needs to be unwound...people literally have been cluelessly dumping money into stocks since interest rates have been crashed to zero (last 10 years).  The other day a JP Morgan analyst gave a positive outlook for General Electric and their price surged 7%.  That tells me that nobody has a fu3king clue where to put their money - when they think someone's opinion is good enough (forget fundamentals) as where to park their money.

XRP has some solid fundamentals going forward - they are actually disrupting how money is sent around the world.  They can save banks time and money.  Banks can free up Nostro cash.  All of this is actually useful to the worldwide economy - to grease the wheels of money flow - to allow it to move faster and cheaper.  I think the long-term outlook for XRP is very good, and perhaps because of a recession the price may increase.
