What made you think I am happy to sneak in the word ”racist”?

Actually we talk about wasp supremacists, and not just a general form of racism. These people are convinced to be the choosen race by God and the rest of the world is...

Scary the similarity with Germany in 1929 and the fact that mods here tolerate this attitude!

I love Galgitron’s posts and my own price predictions are probably aligned with his, but I’m not going to read this as I share TinyAccount’s thoughts on the matter.

There is room for everybody if everybody can respect one another’s views.

Also, hopium is a positive thing for those who cannot afford to invest much. I’d rather them set a high target than over-invest because somebody said their target is unreachable.

Racism here is an insta-ban, as I'm sure several people on Discord will attest. Please show me the posts of mods "tolerating" racism.

Cannot do it anymore unfortunatly. There was a certain club here which I left because of this reason full of such posts. I applied at due time to owners/leaders but nothing happened. Fortunatly this space doesn't exist anymore.

For sure the blog episode is controversial, but those complaining about it by saying  “everyone should accept other people’s views” should re-read the following part of the blog:

Quote

When someone challenges your incredibly ignorant statements ($589 EOY, SDRs, etc.), don't get all self-righteous and morally superior Ms. Pissy. It's not a personal attack so don't turn it into one. Getting into "You need to show more respect for people. They are way smarter/experienced/educated than you. Why do you have to be so rude? Why can't people be allowed to say whatever they want without being challenged??" are the cries of a junkie that just had their hopium taken away. What you don't understand is that you can RUIN PEOPLE'S ******* LIVES SPREADING THIS ****!! People will jeopardize their financial security on these false hopes!! That fact makes it perfectly valid, nay NECESSARY, to disagree with and slam any information that is incorrect, your feelings be damned. If you're going to throw crap into the mix, you better be prepared to defend it because there's nothing worse than leaving the rest of us to try to undo the hysteria after all the hopium junkies have started worshipping it. You'd be the first to call the police if you saw someone selling drugs on your street, right? The sooner you see the parallel to spreading false Hopium, the sooner you'll see how your addiction is making you a hypocrite.

What’s your opinion of the last paragraph in my post?

Just read the blog.

Ah man, terrible read. He started as crypto blogger with some usefull info and very funny quotes and has now turned into a self proclaimed human brain- and behaviour specialist, and his writing is full of generalisations and polarisations. Semi populair scientific BS.

I don't know if hopium really helps people in not getting overinvested. Both overinvesting and unrealistic hope should have no place in any investors mental toolkit. Purely rational thinking should be.

But he is stating that by smacking down hopium, he is protecting investors from jeopardising their investment and indirectly saying you have not invested enough.

At least if you are starting off with hopium, you will not need to invest as much and therefore are risking less.

If I believed $589 was possible, even within the next 5 years, I would not have invested as much as I have.

If he does want to protect the ‘unsophisticated’ from jeopardising their investment, in my view, it would be best to leave them be.

Edit: Just to point out my use of the term ‘unsophisticated’. Don’t want to offend anybody! :) https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/sophisticatedinvestor.asp

I feel bad that @galgitron gave a sad response to my earlier comment.  But I know he is a big boy, and has a ton of chutzpah,  so he won't really be hurt by my opinions.

But I've had to defend my views a bit lately,  so I think I will use this opportunity in response to his blog, to lay out how I see things...

Excellent post.

I would only add that I think for most folks $589 is not really serious except possibly in your broadly expanded definition.  It was always, at least for me, a playful idea (a cartoon bear, for goodness' sake) and most of the people participating carried with them that sense of play.  Some took it completely seriously, but that's their decision.

Early in the year I felt like $10-15 was a viable target.  I still feel that way.  Last year I predicted $ 0.35 -- and was I ever wrong about that.  It could be less than $10 or higher, but whatever it will be, it will be.  I participated in the BG123 club and I kept my mouth shut about any number of things that I found 'out there' -- many of which you outline.

To your main point, to repeat --  RESPECT.

Here are my thoughts after reading this latest blog post:

- There are extremely different groups in the crypto sphere: fudsters, anti-crypto guys (Roubini, Schiff), bitcoin maxis, 589ers, hopium dealers, ICO pumpers, realists and others. It helps me to deal with annoying groups when I think about public roads. Some people just can't drive. They are too slow, too fast and keep cutting off, etc. However, those are indeed public roads and every people have the rights to use them just like me (the perfect driver I am). Crypto is similar public space just like the public roads.

- I have noticed that it is very easy to gain love when spreading good news, rumours or even cutted hopium regarding to Ripple/XRP. You can see that when analyzing the ratings of some Youtube videos, for instance. In the other hand bringing bad news, being critical constructively or even cooling off the jets for real just like Galgitron did with this blog post is often found as offensive by some people. This is human nature in acton.

- Hope is essential but when it is too much it becomes non-productive, even toxic hopium. False hope is bad and those people who are shoving off it are evil. For instance, ICO scammers who sell dirty cutted hopium to the innocent (often children) are not far from the real drug dealers according to my book.

- The only thing Bitcoin troglodytes understand is the smell of A$$.
