How can I start Codius server and write smart contract in local rippled

Recommended Posts

I have setup a local rippled server and run as a private network, I want to write a smart contract and do some function using this local rippled network and its XRP.
Any tutorials for that as I found most Codius tutorials need a real XRP account and domain name space? As I have troubles on seting Moneyd and Codiusd. Or I misunderstand somethings about Codius? Thanks

Hi easry,

I'm fairly sure you could setup in the way you are describing. The easiest way would be to do the following:

- replace all the "domain name" sections with "localhost"

- skip the certificate section

- replace the 443 (SSL) port config with port 80 (http)

That's pretty much it really. I don't think codiusd itself actually checks for SSL. It's just the nginx reverse-proxy checking the certs, and redirecting SSL traffic to the internal codiusd port. So if you replace it with http, remove the certificate bits, theoretically it should just work.

I can try test this myself and write a quick tutorial if I get the time.

thanks retryW, I can do setup using localhost now.

I want to test smart contract on ripple just like on ethereum, so I try to create some smart contract for me to test in testnet or private rippled(not using real xrp).
Is it a better and easier way to do it by my description? and seems it requires https to do upload.  currently i may successfully upload contract by following the tutorial but using local moneyd, However, the contract seems not working.
