However, with so many platforms out there focusing privacy-based communication, it will be interesting to see how team Elixxir market the platform to penetrate this ever crowded space. quantum resistant privacy preserving (Who owns what and who sends what to whom) high performance (> 10000 tx/s) tx finality in seconds fully decentralized And that is only the blockchain part. There is more, like anonymous voting, dApp (not delivered yet), Messaging (using the cMix platform). If it delivers what they promise then it might be a game changer as it delivers on all aspects that current blockchains in one way or another still miss.. thinlyspread
aavkk
I’ve been interested in this project from day 1. It seems the coin is unavailable to purchase if you live in the US. If anyone has any information as to how I can invest please let me know. I’m sure others here would be interested too. Chris Larsen announced his support and investment early on. My very general take on this is this could be a fantastic consumer facing and focused option with XRP handling more of the enterprise/govt/financial services side of things. They could be very collaborative.

Also the fact you can process business logic ("smart contracts") off-chain but have it validate through the comms/coin layer, so there's no bloat. Flintstone
Is the xx coin available Q4?
thinlyspread
I believe that's what the schedule is. Quote Release of MainNet (Q4 2020): Smart contract coins released for trading/transfer + xx network sells remaining coins, up to 70%. 6 months after MainNet Foundation will claim all unclaimed smart contract coins, and attempt to contact owners directly. Smart contract with redeemability shutdown no more than 6 months after MainNet launch. From: https://xx-coin.io Flintstone
thinlyspread
Quote If that's inclusive of actuall transaction speed (finality), then we have officially dethroned XRP. The power of pre-computation; why I sold a good chunk of XRP a year ago to fund this project. Probably why Larsen got involved too.
thinlyspread
Quote xx BetaNet has onboarded 183 nodes in 45 countries organized into 8 distinct geographic bins (set up to hardwire decentralization of the network). 22 billion messages have been processed (22 million blocks of 1,000). The xx dashboard now provides a "Quick View" to see network performance with a "Nodes" and "Rounds" view for more detail. You can "toggle on" or "refresh" for realtime information. https://dashboard.xx.network As of last week, the network is using a 4k prime; the result is stronger, future-proofed security at a cost of running slightly slower. https://forum.xx.network/t/4k-prime-update/2586 Even so, the network is quite fast. Latency or time to finality is now at about 2.5 seconds. Next step is more nodes as well as more work on optimizing processing power and network connectivity! !!! aavkk and jn_r

thinlyspread
Mainnet is close now. I didn't see this before, but maybe it's not new, anyway... Tokenomics paper: https://xx.network/economics_v1.pdf
brianwalden
Keep us updated when this thing goes live. I like these big-brain projects. When the token is out and available on DEXes I'll try to pick some up. thinlyspread and Zerpiet
