cmbartley
@gatehub is going to be one of the first exchanges to enable ILP, probably with Bitstamp. Ripple argues that XRP and RCL will be useful for finding paths between exotic assets. What better place to test this than in cryptoland? There are many interesting tokens not available on the main exchanges. Hypothetically, which tokens and exchanges would you like to see gatehub connect to via ILP? Could Gatehub differentiate between "verified" exchanges like bitstamp and unverified? I'll start: Liqui.io to bring Golem to RCL. @gregor @enej thinlyspread

What better place to test this than in cryptoland? Excellent point. This is the project I am most looking forward to and most closely matches my own vision of what Ripple could be and could do, i.e. a decentralised, public asset exchange that supports its own infrastructure through sales of the bridge currency (just like real public infrastructure requires tax). There should be absolutely no need for ShapeShift or Changelly in a Ripple-enabled world. Before I even bought (or was interested in buying) XRP I was totally hooked on Ripple because of the idea of XRP being so liquid and RCL bringing in all these amazing new (and old) assets from around the globe and being able to exchange them all – and I like the idea of my assets being very, very liquid. Thus far this has been the great failure in my view and has saddened me. So when someone from the Ripple team (it may have been JoelKatz, not sure, I lost the post) recently mentioned a hush-hush "crypto-exchange project" (coming soon, of course) well I necessarily wet my pants a little with excitement. nik and TPM
tulo
The more the currencies the more the pairs, the more the need of liquidity and connectors. Who do you think will provide liquidity between Liqui.io and XRP? A liquidity provider for that (MM) will need to have: knowledge of Liqui.io, knowledge of ripple, knowledge of ILP, knowledge of market making, owning XRP, owning Liqui.io currencies. PS: and that won't bring GOLOS to RCL, but just provide a bridge between Liqui.io GOLOS and XRP. Edited January 13, 2017 by tulo
thinlyspread
Is it technically/logically possible to autobridge the order books between ILP-connected exchanges? #deepthoughts

Or we could ask nicely the owner of Liqui to become a gateway. I'm sure, if Ripple offers a hefty purse of XRP to sweeten the deal, they might agree. I tried asking Liqui about adding XRP, but so far they haven't bothered to reply.

Being a gateway and adding XRP are way different things...would you like XRP on liqui or liqui issuing its IOUs on Ripple and build a bridge? Graine
@tulo I asked them about listing XRP as it is the easiest way to connect to RCL. They are going to list USD Tether and some other fiat options by the end of January, so it could've been quite useful for me. Them issuing assets on RCL would be an ultimate goal, of course. I wonder how this inter-exchange ILP pool will work out. How expensive will it be to transfer funds between them, and will it be available for the users.
