Guest
Quote Ripple is indeed generating interest in the banking industry. More than 120 banks and financial institutions (Western Union, Santander, Crédit Agricole, etc.) are testing its blockchain transfer platform. On the other hand, it does not require the use of the XRP cryptocurrency (one can use traditional currencies) and no major institution uses it in real conditions. Thus, despite some attention, the XRP has never for the moment justified the excitement around him. Unlike Bitcoin, the Ripple system is centralized. That is, the company has decisive authority over the protocol, while Bitcoin requires agreement from the majority of its network members to make it evolve. In addition, the company holds 60% of the outstanding XRP. According to a very detailed report published in January by the BitMEX trading platform, Ripple's solution would ultimately be little different from the traditional banking system. peur incertitude doute Edited September 22, 2018 by Guest

I had a deep a discussion with a French guy and he told me there was no advantage to use xrapid. Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help I would first read this official page from Ripple: https://ripple.com/ripplenet/source-liquidity/ And then this explanation from a Ripple employee: So the advantage is that XRP can bridge between currencies at high speeds and low costs. Pilots have shown that xRapid with the use of XRP, can lower costs by 40 to 60% and increase speed from multiple days to several minutes. The advantage is also pretty obvious in terms of accounting, since Distributed Ledger Technology works better than a collection of databases for this specific use case. Thanks for your help I believe you may not have a full understanding. xRapid may not always be the best option for sourcing liquidity. xRapid is not a panacea for all corridors. False. xCurrent can settle the payment also but it needs nostro/vostro accounts and that means huge amount of dormant capital around the world for the correspondent banks. With xRapid any bank can settle the payment without the need for correspondent bank.
