Will Ripple Replace Swift? An Expert’s Take

Recommended Posts

https://ripplecoinnews.com/will-ripple-replace-swift-an-experts-take

I found this an interesting take one reason being that I am one of the believers that a swift and ripple alliance is on the horizon.  I have quoted the part of the article that leads me to believe this will come to past.  SWIFT will not be able to come up with the technology to compete with Ripple as the movement of Xrapid once it is established in a production environment as being what it says it is will be SWIFT to use the term loosely. Like the author points out there will be coexistence for a while but resistance will be futile.  Ripple has the tech and SWIFT has the clients that need the tech it can either be a marriage made in heaven or a hostile take over.  The lines have been drawn and the forces have surrounded the castle.

"SWIFT–as long as it improves speed, remains a messaging service while Ripple rides on blockchain technology. With this innovative technology at its disposal, SWIFT will never eliminate the need of nostro accounts and instantaneous settlement. To succeed, SWIFT should invest and create their own blockchain technology—an expensive task which will take time before it is perfected.

If Ripple deploys XRapid to as many financial entities as possible, we will be witnessing a real revolution in years to come. It will be an intense battle but in such battles often technology reigns supreme. Therefore, unless SWIFT shape in and innovate, it will be rendered obsolete by Ripple."

I've always found ripplecoinnews to be amateurish and barely readable and this article is no exception. Full of statements that contradict each other.

Most reporting in this space is amateur and extremely bias at this point. I am not arguing your point the grammar issues and some of the circular talk is evident but the point the author is trying to get across is not that cloudy.  Some of this stuff is written by people who have not yet mastered the King's English so I tend not to knock all of them because it probably flows more fluent in their native tongue but again an open mind goes a long way.  Everyone is entitled to their own interpretation I guess.

An expert's take = laughable!! Sounds like swift has got it all figured out!! Big talk = big things = laughable!!!!

Did you read the article or just the title?  Pleas elaborate on how it indicates SWIFT has it all figured out???  We all know at this point nobody can call themselves an expert.

Amateur, I'll give you that, you could call me dumb for all I care, however the amount of time a certain person has spent on a forum doesn't determine there worth. I'd personally credit that to life experience (just my opinion) yes I did read the article and I felt that all the answers were within, even though I found a certain bias toward ripple in the article. What I found funny though is the fact that while trying to pat swift on the back they say they don't have much information on swift messaging system or new upgrades, then it goes on later , in some ways I find contradicting  itself to say SWIFT–as long as it improves speed, remains a messaging service while Ripple rides on blockchain technology. With this innovative technology at its disposal, SWIFT will never eliminate the need of nostro accounts and instantenous settlment. To succeed, SWIFT should invest and create their own blockchaintechnology—an expensive task which will take time before it is perfected. For one the whole article comes off like a scared prediction, not a professional one, and speaks in a tone where basically swift has a monopoly and no matter how good a competitor nobody will replace swift. Only time will tell, I know who I'll be investing in!!!

I shouldn't say all prediction, because in some ways it feels that it's trying to help advise swift on its next move. However I'm for xrp and im bias toward xrp..if I wanted swift to prevail I wouldn't even be on this forum. I'm honest!! My whole point is everybody keeps making a big thing of swift, but if your just now trying to fix the problem that someone else has the solution to, the writing is on the wall!!!

Mmmm interesting... I also found the following very recent presentation

concerning the ‘pending’ role of the SWIFT infrastructure and the banks who are using it. Personally I beleive this is a very real  scenario.

This is where Ripple were in 2016, imagine lots of banks getting access to this to play with over the last 2 years.

at the risk of starting that rumour off again notably he says "pure SAP" around 26 seconds before mentioning ripple 🙄. He uses it like a reference term almost, anyone know what that means or SAP potential strikes (OK struck as it's old) again?

SAP is a German company called Systeme, Andwendung und Produkte. It was started by former employees at IBM. They are working with implementing Ripples products. As they are Europes leading software developer for corporations, they will probably make their systems compatible with both SWIFT and Ripple. The question is wether they will connect with SWIFT through ILP. Remember XRP is an open asset it can be used by anyone. This is probably very attractive to SAPs business model.

CryptoEri tweeted this YouTube video by "Bitcoin Ben." Not the most credible source by any means but around 16:00 he said some interesting things about AribaPay.

I'm not very familiar  with AribaPay. but they appear to be a collaboration between SAP and Discover Global Network for B2B payments. Could be big news, I don't know enough to draw any solid conclusions, but does anyone have insight into this?

Also keep in mind, this is a YouTuber who got a mysterious phone call, so take it with a grain of salt 🤔. But interesting nonetheless.
