xRapid goes live on November 14?

My theory is that xRapid will go live sometime around 14 November.

There are some breadcrumbs that are leading us there. For example Swift the leading competitor (or partner) of Ripple will go live with Swift gpi around November according to this tweet.

Also there are 3 blockchain conferences at 14 November that Ripple employees or partners will be talking.

Benzinga Fintech Summit - November 14 2018

Cory Johnson will be speaker at this event

Money 20/20 China - November 14 - 16, 2018

LianLian Pay will be sponsor at this event and their CEO will be speaking at this event. LianLian Pay is already using xCurrent, maybe at this event they will announce that they're going full production with xRapid.

Blockchain for Finance Conference, North America - November 14 - 15, 2018

Dilip Rao - Global Head of Infrastructure Innovation at Ripple will be speaking at this event, also RBC's (Ripple's partner that already have been experimenting with XRP) Kaushik Venkatadri Senior Director - Blockchain Centre of Excellence Lead will be talking at this event. Rohan Handa Business Strategist - New Ventures at BBVA (also a partner) will be there.

Do we have any evidence that XRP will be involved in the first use cases of xRapid?

It is made for sourcing liquidity. Back in August Ripple announced that 3 exchanges were ready for use with xRapid. Bittrex in the US. Bitso in Mexico and Coins.ph in the Philipines. This means that hey all have XRP pairs with the local fiat, and are able to provide lightning fast exchange of these pairs at scale.

It will be exciting to see if any more exchanges in other countries are announced over the next months. Japan, Korea and Thailand should be quite close to being announced. We will probably hear something at Swell.

According to Ripple, xRapid requires the use of XRP (xCurrent and xVia do not require XRP but can use XRP).

Perhaps the question should have been that XRapid cannot work without a Digital Asset, does that digital asset always have to be XRP?

I cannot imagine it being set up with another DA because Ripple have set up local currency XRP pairs Market Makers, no other DA have the network of pairings (unless you use Bitcoin which would be slow and expensive)

just thinking out loud

If I recall correctly Ripple say that XRapid could be configured to use another DA but it is set for XRP because that is the best one for this use case.
