chm2463
Hi Guys, Completely new to crypto and would appreciate some advice on which purchasing platform to use - In the process of setting up EToro, but looking for another option where I can transfer funds direct from a Spore bank? Any thoughts on EToro or Plus 500? Thanks in advance. CHM Edited August 28, 2018 by chm2463 Add info BLPinfinity
pascales
Hi @chm2463 I believe you can go through Bitrue (which is also said to be using XRP se base currency). I use Kraken as I’m based in the EU, but I’ll be moving over to SP in November, so I’ll definitely follow up with local exchanges Platforms such as eToro make things easier but take a much higher commission in exchange. chm2463
Thanks Pascales, I have signed up with Uphold and purchased my first coins as a test. Note that it is very difficult or not possible to do a bank transfer in Singapore both inbound and outbound to a platform. Debit and credit card options seem to be available but incur the additional fees.

CHM Not sure on Etoro but dont use plus500 as it is a CFD (contract for difference) you dont actually own the asset and they will close out your position after a certain time frame. Guest
Great question! My Singapore accounts have hated most of the exchanges I’ve tried working with. Wire transfers got rejected more often than not with no official reason given but it was pretty clear why. More often than not I’ve resorted to using credit card top-ups via bitstamp. Far from ideal and the fees aren’t fun compared to wire transfer but fast, easy and doesn’t require me jumping through hoops with my local banks. I contacted Bitrue today and unfortunatey they said they have no immediate plans to support SGD deposits.
Guest
Revolut is launching in Singapore soon so that should help as well!

Similar. Hopefully Bitrue or ABCC open up fiat pairings soon for SGD.
