You might want to be careful.

If your stack is big enough, bad people could come after you. They won't try to figure out your secret keys, they might just ask you to write them down...

Edit/Deleted: Fine.  Apparently 1 user was uncomfortable with this, so removed - challenge revoked.

I dunno.  I know it's the Internet and all, and anything is possible.  I have an intel background, so I know things can be found out.  But the odds of a user on this forum finding out my name, where I work, getting into my secure facility???  I just think there's no chance.

Hell, I'll issue a challenge.  If anyone on this forum can tell me my full name and where I work, I will send them 100 XRP.  Let's put this theory to test.  Then, if anyone can guess those 2 things, yes you can break into my facility and hold me hostage and force me at gunpoint to open my safe and give you my secret keys.  I will of course fight back.  I also have a military background and there is no way in hell I'll ever just get down on my knees and let someone shoot me, without fighting back first.

Does your last name start with McL?

Thought experiment:

So lets say you own a significant amount of XRP and I want get rich quickly and decide to try to rob you. I now know you use nano s devices, I would only need your security keys (which I can use to restore your wallets on a device or software wallet). So only using this forum I already now a lot about you:

  • removed info

This is starting information to do some more social engineering and I think criminals would blackmail you or rob you/your wife at home for the private keys (again that's the only thing they would need).

  • You life in Madagascar
  • where born around 1932
  • are gay
  • earn at least 120000 euros
  • are active on xrpchat and pornhub
  • been in crypto around a year or so
  • you 'flaunt' with information about your crypto investments so this says something about you and your personality
  • you store your nano's at the bank
  • your codes are probably stored somewhere else (vault in bank or at home most likely)

This is starting information to do some more social engineering and I think criminals would blackmail you or rob you/your wife at home for the private keys (again that's the only thing they would need).

You are looking for the wrong member, no?

No I was writing a reply to an earlier posted, not the BarryM17 challenge. BTW I'm also easily findable/Tracable, I have chosen to be more public since I'm not much of a trader and more of blockchain enthusiast and like to be able to communicate publicly under my real name if needed.

Please let me know if I should remove the information I posted about you!

This is really uncomfortable. I get what ur saying mate, i do. But if you think those things are hard for someone to find out you are being incredidbly naive. I dont think this is a game anyone should be playing.

Everyone should know that any internet action is not completely anonymous. Your ip is in the XRPChat servers with the poll info for sure. Someone could hack the server and get your ip. With your ip he will know your internet provider and your location kilometer up or down. And the circle gets closer.

I dont know if this could be really done but its small example:

I go to the police in my country and report you for fraud, for example. I say that the user of the forum has cheated me a few thousand dollars. This way you could force the police to identify you. Obviously I would lose the judgment but I would have identified you.

I can tell you that would not be an easy way to do it.

Yes, I know it would not be so easy, it was just an example to show that it is possible to identify a user. All you need is a judge's order. Surely there are other ways to get the order. Everybody has a price.
