Slik
I hope I don’t get flamed. Holder here. Haven’t been looking at price. Checked back in to see it’s buying time again. Anythig new besides Coinbase >BTC then wait a dam week to get your BTC then send BTC to exchange then buy XRP? Last I remember I think I was buying with a linked bank account. Surely by now there is a better way? Edited August 10, 2018 by Slik
Flintstone
Uphold for USD seems to be popular AwesomeCopper
Flintstone
Tip: deposit funds directly into Uphold XRP account, not USD account. Gangus and bloodhound
Slik
Thanks. I’ll check it out. I just looked at Coinbase. Haven’t bought in a long time. It says if I use my bank account it’s a 7 day wait. If I use my CC it’s a zero day wait. How can such a supposedly wonderful new way of doing business be so clunky and outdated? and how is the average joe or Jane supposed to figure this stuff out. I mean I did but it wasn’t the easiest thing to do. I hope things get easier to attract ordinary investors sometime soon. Flintstone

Crypto31
Uphold may be better, but I deposit USD to Coinbase or Coinbase Pro. Once you have the USD deposited, make sure you buy the BTC or ETH or LTC on Coinbase Pro (which used to be GDAX). Don't buy on Coinbase. The fees are much lower on Coinbase pro. Then transfer the BTC or whatever to Binance and buy XRP there. This may no be the best way but it works for me and it's low fee. With Uphold, It can take up to 5 days for deposits, but if you directly fund your XRP account, you get the current rate on XRP even though those funds will not clear for 5 days. Weigh it up against the fees. Not sure if Coinbase/Pro gives you any crypto before funds have cleared? WrathofKahneman

The waiting for the funds and the price change of xrp is what I always hated. Flintstone and jag216
Slik
On a funny note. Anyone held so long and been out of the loop that you actually have to watch YouTube again to refresh how to do stuff? Stuff is easy to forget how to do if you haven’t done it in a while. WrathofKahneman, AwesomeCopper, Flintstone and 1 other 2

I just use the web based version: https://pro.coinbase.com It's the same account as your Coinbase account. So you can just log in to Coinbase then visit that link for Coinbase pro. I deposit USD to avoid fees entirely on the deposit side. It hasn't hurt me since the price usually goes down while I'm waiting for the deposit to land. If you want instant purchases you have to use a debit card. Or use Uphold it sounds like. Flintstone and AwesomeCopper
tmorand
These are really good discussions to have. There could be a lot of people on the sidelines trying to figure out the best way to get in. I always used Coinbase and Bittrex myself, but was wondering if there were any other safe paths. Uphold sounds like a good choice. Here is some information for opening a Bittrex account. They now offer USD accounts and trading pairs for eligible personal and corporate accounts. https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004441491-Fiat-US-Dollar-Trading-Deposits-and-Withdrawals It's limited right now to "Identity verified customers operating outside the United States or in California, New York, Montana, Arizona, and Washington State are eligible to participate. Corporate customers in Pennsylvania are also eligible." Edited August 10, 2018 by tmorand Flintstone

I'm only relaying what I have read from this forum. I use Bitstamp SEPA or Revolut for instant buys here in the UK.
