Yeah about that.... we will see.

Not much confidence after Bradley back pedalling his statement he made before

What  I'm saying is that there is an agenda to follow in high places,  because there are " some strange coincidences "  ( or good, not strange, because  they confirm what Mr Bradley stated ) that is my point of  view to take as  grain of salt

ING is using GPI from Swift since Jan 2017.

The major banks already use SWIFT GPI in their transactional banking .................................................. ..................................

Corporate treasuries around the world already benefit from a better experience in cross-border payments

Madrid, February 16, 2017 - SWIFT announces that banks are actively using SWIFT's new global payments innovation service (GPI) for its transactional banking, which has been available since January 2017. ABN AMOR , Bank of China, BBVA, Citi, Danske Bank, DBS Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, ING Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, Nordea Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UniCredit are using SWIFT gpi, exchanging GPI payments among brokers in 60 countries. In the coming months, many additional banks will be added.

"We are excited that the SWIFT gpi service has been launched and is already improving the experience of cross-border payments for the companies' treasuries," says Christian Sarafidis, Marketing Director, SWIFT. "The international financial community committed a year ago to drastically improving the experience of cross-border payments, and today marks an important milestone in fulfilling this promise. In addition, it demonstrates the ability of SWIFT and the financial industry to collaborate, innovate and quickly introduce new solutions. "

SWIFT gpi allows banks to make cross-border payments faster and more transparent and traceable. The new and innovative GPI Tracker allows banks to provide corporate treasurers with a complete and real-time view of the status of their payments, including confirmations when payments have been paid into the beneficiaries' accounts. In this way, the treasurers are even certain that all the payment information is transferred unchanged to the beneficiary. SWIFT will also provide the GPI Observer, a monitoring tool for compliance with the rules established in gpi by the participants.

"Our customers demand more speed in the execution of cross-border payments, greater transparency in costs and their traceability from start to finish. For BBVA, SWIFT GPI is a first step in responding to these needs of our customers, "explains BBVA's Global Transaction Services manager, Carmela Gómez.

SWIFT is working on the next phase of gpi that will include additional services to further improve the experience of cross border payments.

"Customers need more security, transparency and traceability in their cross-border payments SWIFT gpi already allows it," says Win Raymaekers, head of gpi of SWIFT. "With almost a hundred subscribed banks, SWIFT gpi is ready to expand rapidly with more banks, new features and additional payment services."

In parallel, SWIFT gpi is analyzing the distributed technology applied to the reconciliation of Nostro accounts in real time. For this, this month of January the start of a proof of concept was announced.

wtf ?

https://www.europeanpaymentscouncil.eu/news-insights/news/instant-credit-transfers-are-now-reality-eight-european-countries

More  from major European countries are expected to join the scheme in 2018 and 2019. Among them,  from Belgium, Finland, Germany, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden.

the maximum amount per transaction will be regularly reviewed starting from November 2018. An increased maximum amount will make the scheme more attractive for companies.

Dutch will adopt SCT Inst very quickly once the country moves en masse to its planned national system in May 2019.

why are you frustrated?

No, I'm excited  because I think Brad Garlinghouse was right and was  not talking bullshits about imminent use of xRapid , but someone here do not like someone to discover the truth connetting this kind of dots, like a higher agenda going on.

calm down dude, this is just EUR to EUR transactions and has nothing to do with currency conversation

It's like whining about the fact xrp is not used for domestic transactions within the USA

that's not how FUD works i think -- try better next time

"The scheme allows the electronic transfer of money – currently up to 15,000 euros – progressively across Europe in less than ten seconds, at any time and on any day of the year, including weekends and holidays. The transactions covered by the scheme must be denominated in euros."

Could someone please close this thread
