Question about personal info on GateHub

Hi, I'm a newbie, and I've just created a new GateHub account, so it is a "stupid questions time".

The front page told me:

In order to be able to Deposit and Withdraw funds, you have to connect a gateway for the desired currency.

And the helpfile told it too:

Quote

GateHub wallet is not fully operational until you successfully connect at least one gateway.

So, I will be unable to receive and send XRP to/from my wallet without а "gateway". Am I correct?

And to "connect a gateway", as far as i understood, I will need to provide a lot of personal information, including scans of my passport, utility bills and etc... It's so complicated. I just want to use the wallet to store some XRP, and i don't need any "gateways".

Is it necessary to provide all this scans of bills and passports? Is there another online Ripple wallet without such requests?

No. You can use your Ripple account without connecting it to any "gateway". You'll be able to send and receive XRPs, though.

You need gateway only if you want to deposit/send/receive USD, EUR.... But you don't need gateway just for XRP.
