I can't speak for the credit card bit as my transaction tied to a bank account. The most they would let me buy in one day however was $500 USD; beyond that a denial notice would pop up stating that it would be necessary to contact their customer service. For me it ended up mostly as an exercise of curiosity. The fees on buys and send transactions are too high for them to be a compelling alternative. mm34505
CRap, Im looking for a way to use my credit card maybe Kraken? Got that 0% ARP till next year want a few more while I have that option lol
AwesomeCopper
I know my chase visa wouldn’t work but my Barclays black master card works and all my debt cards work. None work on the phone app though they get caught up when it attempts to do the Secure 3D verification but on a pc works fine. You gotta just try it and see if your bank allows it. Also all my cards first transactions were flagged and denied until I contacted the bank to verify I was making the transaction. And I believe the limit is 500 per day usd
mm34505
Well Kraken doesn't take credit card either any ideas?
XRPonTheIronThrone
Be careful with that 0% APR. If it is allowed, the card company may deem that a cash advance rather than a purchase. WrathofKahneman

I hate to bring up the dreaded CB but they remain the most fee efficient way I've found to acquire XRP. Transfer cash in to the USD holding account, wait anywhere from one to two weeks for it to clear (If only there was some solution out there to solve that. Perhaps something blockchain based. If only..), then buy Eth using GDAX because the fees are *far* lower than CB proper and the transaction performance is significantly better than BTC, sling it to Binance, swap Eth for XRP, offload XRP to external wallets. Downsides of this method is it complicates taxes in the US and you can't lock in XRP if the price it's at right this moment is the price you want to buy at. The latter is why I keep some USD standing by in that account. The upside is the significant reduction of the fees and thus more XRP bang for your buck. I had a lot of hope for Uphold but when they jam you at 1.4% to buy and then want nearly 6 XRP per send transaction to an external wallet, that just pisses me off. n2it
@mm34505, I don't use credit cards to buy. I just add funds from my linked bank account. The hoop jumping required to use CoinBase to buy XRP is a total PITA. Every XRP buy from CB (and the subsequent transfer/conversion to XRP) triggers a USA tax event and that extra effort isn't worth the slightly lower price to me. Uphold has been worth the 1.4% fee just in terms of my time. Note that Uphold's fee to transfer to an external wallet is a $2.99 USD + 0.1 XRP flat fee. Doesn't matter how many XRP you transfer - it's always a fixed rate. I'd only transfer large amounts of XRP from Uphold to an external wallet (after testing it, of course) to minimize that fee's percentage of the transfer amount. I get that if you're a day trader that minimizing fees is a good strategy, but for occasional BHODLers like me, Uphold is way less work. Edited June 25, 2018 by n2it Respond to original post, duh! Correct withdrawal fee. pgmrob3

To prevent this type of consumer debt that ultimately could leave the issuer holding the bag..

I haven't tried it yet, but might want to if we hit $
