Madbull
Or should the question be: why are the all over market prices dropping when the bitcoin dominance rises?
robertbruce
you must have missed last week when the opposite was happenning... last week we even had a green xrp/btc a red everything else, it was quite a sight to see... also, you'll notice on the graph all the "batmans", i swear some bots must have sewing-machine pattern settings on thier dial... Mods_are_tyrants
I will say it is pretty shocking btc still hold a 40% share of crypto midway through 2018. johnlogan

Mods_are_tyrants
Dominance or not market is very weak. 300B market cap total market right now. We have threads talking about just xrp having 23T-58.9T market cap by itself is sorta funny. Moonraker
Guest
The way I see it; 1. People started realised that ERC20 tokens are securities and that most exchanges will delist them until dust settles. 2. People on tethered exchanges are moving to bitcoin to avoid incoming implosion.
Guest
People selling out of alts when market crashes. Most will convert to btc to get fiat out.

Raekwon
5 hours ago, Madbull said: So people shifting their holding into bitcoin? Is that the reason for the dominance? No, people are dumping more altcoins getting FIAT in return. They either maintain FIAT or invest their money in bitcoin, net net it shows that the BTC marketcap is reducing however the BTC market share in % is increasing - solely coming from a bigger dump in altcoins.
