weeks for that payment to arrive "

THIS WAS THE CASE OF AMAZON.........................so is this not the case anymore?

Exactly... So how would he know if it was past tense?  He would need to have first hand knowledge that it isn't true anymore.

Maybe we are looking to deep into it maybe his English isn't correct but I am born and raised in the USA and he speaks better then me lol

He would have said as an example we look at Amazon or this IS the case with Amazon

Well he just said they were taking 3-5 days for international payments. He didn't explicitly say they are taking less now, or how. So that probably gets him around any NDA. Unfortunately he's not obliged now to go into a presser with some journo asking him the question outright to his face!

why would he get on stage to provide an example of an ex customer who ripple couldn't or wouldn't help?

It reminds me vaguely of one of the other presentations that discussed how many engineers Amazon had working to sustain banking relationships across all the countries they do business with - the number being 100+ IIRC. Was that a Dilip talk? Anyone else remember this better than I do?

He speaks as if the problem with Amazon is now past tense it's either a grammatical error or he knows something.  It may not even be Ripple but he knows something.  He didn't flinch, hesitate, or anything when he mentioned AMZ in past tense of their payment problems which shows he is confident in speaking on this.. Again He knows something!!
