Need help migrating my Ripple Trade Wallet

I just found my old Ripple Trade info. No private keys, just username, and password. I tried to migrate to GateHub but it's not connecting to Ripple Trade to let me. Does anyone have any suggestions? Good Lord, I had a lot of XRP, any suggestions are welcome. These are the XRP I thought I lost so long ago. Posted in problem-solving also, but just trying to reach as many suggestions as possible. Thanks...

Edit: Ok, so I think I have to wait to get verified on GateHub?

gatehub used to support migration, create a new gatehub account, and then on "+" sign to add a wallet and import (well it used to be that anyway)

It takes me through the whole process all the way up to actually migrating it. I'm still waiting to be verified so I'm hoping that is the problem; since the process is still available on the site I'm sure it's possible, just not sure why it's not letting me migrate. It's like it's just taking me in circles. I'm really praying I can migrate...this is the 8000 XRP I thought I lost years ago...

Yeah you should be able, don't worry ;)

In the worst case you can contact gatehub, but they'll take weeks to answer.

I was never verified on Ripple Trade, they shut down early before I could...(lots of people had this problem), but I have all of my login credentials...do you think this will be a problem?

Actually there was no verification on Ripple Trade (afaik), so I don't think there will be any problem. The login credentials when used against the database should give you the secret key of the account.

I just got verified on GateHub and went to import my wallet. Ripple Trade after login says:

Verification status

Incomplete

Ripple name

~xxxxx

Email

jaxxxxxxx@xxxxx.com (verified)

Password

*****************

Ripple address

rJuxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Secret key

You must complete verification before you can retrieve your secret key.

Any ideas on how I get verified in order to get my secret key? Or any other way to recover my funds?

Dear Jailee, the only way to import a Ripple wallet to GateHub is by using its pertaining secret key:

Go to "WALLET".
Create a new wallet by clicking the + icon in the top left corner.
Enter your GateHub password.
Click "Import".
Enter your wallet secret key.

Unfortunately, GateHub cannot recover a lost Ripple secret key.

In order to get verified, please let us know the email address you used here on in PM and we will speed things up for you.

I think you need to be verified on Gatehub.

Isn't the migration from ripple trade still active?

Unfortunately, the Ripple trade is not available anymore. Please check the Ripple page for more informations: https://rippletrade.com/#/404

From your documentation:

Can I still migrate or retrieve my secret key after Ripple Trade is discontinued?

Yes, after April 1, you can migrate your Ripple Trade account to GateHub or another wallet provider of your choice. You can retrieve your secret key on GateHub after you migrate and finish the identity verification process on GateHub.

Was that service discontinued? Doesn't gatehub have access to Ripple Trade database?

Question for 'gatehub' - if I close my account out, can I recover my initial 20xrp wallet stake?

Hey, the Ripple protocol requires that each Ripple wallet holds a small amount of XRP at all times. This is called reserve and its purpose is spam protection. Deleting a Ripple wallet from your GateHub account will not make the 20 XRP reserve available. “Once created, an account exists in the XRP Ledger’s data tree forever.” You can read more about it in our recent blog post: https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard

Well, if XRP gets to something significant, they may decrease the reserve.  Or maybe not.  That 20XRP might be the difference between my little Jimmy being able to go to Harberd or not....
