PhoenixSequence
Hello XRPChat, Our development team is working on a wallet/e-commerce app and hardware combo and would love some healthy and of course critical feedback from you. The app we are developing will allow users to store the top 5 cryptocurrencies with XRP being our prime focus. It can accommodate more cryptocurrencies but for now we'll start with the top 5. One of the main features of the app will be to transfer stored cryptocurrencies (value) to and from all users using the app, an equivalent to PayPal and Venmo but without the hosted mediary in between as we are not, nor do we wish to be an exchange as anything can be hacked. We are coding the app to interface with existing payment portals such as Apple Pay and Google, and stand-alone as we believe cryptocurrencies are the future of transactions and envision using the app to make common daily transactions once cryptocurrencies (xrp) become wildly accepted everywhere. So far there hasn't been any mention of consumers using XRP to trade and purchase goods just as credit and debit cards are now widely used and excepted and are wondering if anyone has seen or heard of such a thing not just the usage between the banks. Or is it that XRP will only be used for cross-border payment transfers and not directly for daily consumer usage? Again any feedback is greatly appreciated. If there doesn't exist such a platform what would you, the consumers and end users like to see in such an app? What features would add value for you? As mentioned, in addition to the software app, we are designing a totally offline hardware wallet for users to store the bulk of their cryptocurrencies and are projecting its cost to be lower than the Nano Ledger S. A wallet that's never connected to the internet. Our thinking is that "when" cryptocurrencies (xrp) become the mainstream store and transfer of value. Storing them will also become vitally important and as such, there needs to be an easy and highly secure way to house them, one which is always offline. The device we are designing will work in conjunction with our aforementioned software counterpart to move cryptocurrencies back and forth between one another. Again we welcome any and all feedback as we greatly value your insights and opinions. With your help, our primary focus will be to deliver a quality product. Thank you. Tony C. xrp_moonjet
Lot of my friends dont have any idea about Crypto.. How private and public address works.. So If you have a way to generate XRP gift card securely and let end-user import from the XRP gift card to their Wallet.. it will be cool.. Just my thought. MaxEntropy
@PhoenixSequence I love to provide feedback... just ask the folks here !! Will ERC-20 tokens be considered as one (1) type or many? Would you consider the following: Bitcoin BTC Bitcoin Cash BCH Ethereum ETH Ripple XRP Stellar XLM ERC-20 Tokens?? :-) The Ledger Wallet products are not exactly cutting edge. Ripple screwed up in this category. Why not support KeepKey and ShapeShift? -- Questions: How will peers find each other? Can there be trusted groups of peer users? Why not build the app in the following way; build core features as an embeddable core SDK which other Social Media Apps can embed with minimal development. build a wrapper application for each mobile device platform such that it uses the Core SDK or links to a cloud based version of the Core SDK build a 'bot' that uses the Core SDK... the bot should be able to run on the Telegram, Tron and KiK/KIN, Apple iMessage platforms Edited April 18, 2018 by MaxEntropy
MaxEntropy
Stellar could reward you for building in their interface. Get John McAffee to test it. -- Oh, oh... maybe Ripple would reward you as they do NOT have a wallet. Consider building in an interface for Debit Cards... and maybe the banks will reward you. :-) Edited April 18, 2018 by MaxEntropy Rose
Mikhail_Liebenstein
I’d also suggest creating a simplified means to secure and backup private keys /Ripple Secrets. i am actually good at that sort of thing, but Crypto DR checks are needed, as 95% of the population have no idea. What do you think of this solution? If the person you want to receive the gift also downloads our app (for free) you can send that person any preset gift denomination of your choosing for zero value. We cannot stress enough how dangerous this is but we'll implement it so that you must confirm this action with no less than three fingerprint swips to execute. And also, and not to sound like a greedy ***. It further incentivizes new users to join up to an already great product.

However, XRP will most definitely be at the top of our list with the next four being based on global popularity and usage which can include those in the ERC-20 token list. But we are considering letting users add a custom list of 5 other cryptocurrencies of their individual choosing but if there is a mismatch between this costum list on every users app trading between them will become inefficient unless they were apart of a group which is mentioned below. How will peers find each other? -- Users will create their own usernames which can be searched for using that particular username or the email address attached to that username. Can there be trusted groups of peer users? -- Yes we see that as a feature to be used for organizations which includes but is it not limited to company teams, family outings at a spread out location (think Disneyland and the kids need money on the other side of the park). And even payroll. Why not build the app in the following way; build core features as an embeddable core SDK which other Social Media Apps can embed with minimal development? -- Our primary goal is security and we want to keep a tight reign on things at first but we are not opposed to ever doing it. build a wrapper application for each mobile device platform such that it uses the Core SDK or links to a cloud based version of the Core SDK? -- we want to see how things go first. We want to crawl before we run. build a 'bot' that uses the Core SDK... the bot should be able to run on the Telegram, Tron and KiK/KIN, Apple iMessage platforms? Enlighten me, how would we use it and for what purpose?

MaxEntropy
@PhoenixSequence I think the future of apps... is bots... bots embedded in stuff. Telegram and the other emerging social media apps will support 'bots' to achieve extensibility. The idea of another billion iOS native apps in the AppStore... is unappealing and not a viable business model for the app developer. Inclusion in the emerging new platforms will be cutting edge. -- i don't see an inconsistency with a Core SDK and security. As a 'small' developer you will have a short runway... the big guys will beat you on architecture, as they have better designers. One of your exit strategies should be... to be acquired, BECAUSE your ability to play nicely with larger concepts. Now is not the time to be an island of innovation. :-) -- Partnering with Ripple would not be wise... you need to target competitive platforms that could/would pull XRP into those competitive platforms... Doing so will force Ripple's hand in some way. Playing nicely with bigger guys is not the strategy... threaten them with competitive advantage and they will be forced to deal with you. Ripple is NOT an innovative company. They are MBAs tweaking business arrangements. Edited April 19, 2018 by MaxEntropy
lll_lll
...and there goes Max again. Our resident Fudder trolling XRPChat only because he holds a bag of XRP that he cannot offload talking shit about XRP and Ripple again. If you hate XRP so much, why not sell it now and be done with it and spare us you FUD (XRP is rising so that should make it easier). I get enough FUD as is from other sources.@phoenixsequence just an FYI, we have learnt to tune him out as far as his opinion of XRP/Ripple is concerned.
