How to get ALV coins using Ledger Nano S

Recommended Posts

These are my notes for acquiring ALV coins if you have a wallet that was active before March 27 inclusive. See https://allvor.org/get-alv/

They are based on the notes from

Thanks Zock..

I've posted them as there isn't much information on the internet about how to do this so hopefully will be useful to some.

Note I don't have a "cold computer" which in an ideal world you would have and any of the steps where I say to disconnect from the Internet you would do on a cold computer as per Zocks notes.

Follow these steps at your own risk!!! They are taken from memory.

For the record I have my ALV coins.

@Maros81 I had the same problem and got the same error.  On the fourth time trying it, I changed the Coin Type on the Bip39-standalone.html page from BTC to XRP and it ended up working. Not sure if th

Step 43. Smash computer repeatedly with heaviest object you can find then set it on fire.

jk, good guide!

The only thing I would add is if you'd like additional security set up Ubuntu (or any other linux distro) for boot option prior to doing any of that, that way if any malicious software sneaked past your anti-virus they would be useless in a Linux environment.

Be careful when exposing any info, there are keyboard loggers abound.

Seems like quite a lot to go through.  What is the community's general thought on the ALV token and intended use?  Is there a real value in what they're trying to do that will play favorably in its price?

I just want to sell that sh1tcoin for fiat so I can buy more XRP.

It is clear that Ripple the company is focusing on Large FIS and banks and MTOS right now. If someone else builds plugins for e-commerce IMHO it is a great thing. I am really happy that they decided to use XRP ledger. I am going to hold for now. I got it for free anyway.

Thanks for putting these steps together Goldstar111.  I unfortunately could not get it to work.  Every time I tried Step 20, I get invalid secret.  I do have a couple of questions.

In Step 18, when creating the Account Extended Private Key, should the Coin be set to XRP - Ripple before calculating the Account Extended Private Key?

In Step 20, should I click the blue Change button after the Wallet Account or the Grey Change button after the secret set:?

What I have tried is setting the coin to default (bitcoin) and XRP and using both the Account Extended Private Keys generated in step 20.  In step 20 I have tried both the blue button and the grey button.  In all 4 attempts I get Invalid Secret.  I must have missed something but cannot figure it out.  any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

@RycNoosh Thank you. I was able to set the trustline and claim the ALV. However not using the 'Account Extended Private Key' as you indicated (which returned an invalid secret message) but the first private key from the Derived Addresses table below (the one corresponding to my public key)

I've tried to send the ALV to a Gatehub Wallet (with ALV trustline) using the BLOB method however when submitting I get 'tecPATH_DRY: Path could not send partial amount'. Can you tell me how to send ALV to another wallet or even better how to import the wallet into Gatehub?
