"Through our partnership with Hyperledger, developers worldwide will be able to access Interledger Protocol (ILP) in Java for enterprise use," Stefan Thomas, Ripple CTO. "The Hyperledger Quilt project connects Hyperledger blockchains with other ILP-capable payment systems such as XRP Ledger, Ethereum, Bitcoin (Lightning), Litecoin, Mojaloop and RippleNet, helping us to deliver on our vision for an Internet of Value - where money moves as information does today."

So you think this will be good or bad for Ripple? I know they have worked together in the past already.

good for ripple, the success of hyperledger means more ILP-connected ledgers!

Does that equate to XRP usage though? My understanding of the ILP is that it can be used by any currency? I may be well off the mark here though!

it's like asking if more windows installs will equal more Word installs/usage... i mean, no one can be FORCED to use Word, but the more folks who have Windows, the more likely it becomes as a standard, right? that's the idea behind XRP... create the internet of value (IoV) via Interledger, get banks on RippleNet then XRP is sort of smuggled in like a trojan horse
