Trickery
One of my go to soul food recipes is traditional Hungarian goulash, it's simple to make but requires a bit of patience. Ingredients; 4 large onions chopped 750g lean beef, shin meat is best but any stewing steak will do 2 cloves crushed garlic 2 tablespoons of sweet paprika, Hungarian if you can get it 1 can of whole peeled tomatoes chopped 1 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper 1 teaspoon of ground coriander 1 bay leaf Method; in a large frying pan caramelise the onions over a low heat until dark brown, this should take about 35-40 mins, be careful not to burn them. add them to the slow cooker. Dice the beef and brown in the same frying pan, when the beef is browned add the paprika, coriander and garlic and cook for a further 5 mins stirring often, add to the slow cooker with all the remaining ingredients and add water to just cover the meat. Slow cook for 6 hrs minimum serve with rye or dark bread or just have it on toast. it's actually better the next day. yummy Edited March 19, 2018 by Trickery Zerpspotter and Snoopy
Snoopy
Sounds really good, my wife was sitting next to me as I was reading it and she seemed interested. I LOVE comfort slow cooker meals! @Wob might be a fan of this as well!
Trickery
You can also add potatoes ,carrots etc an hour before serving but I prefer it without. Snoopy
