GrabPay, Saison Card, Ripple link-up?

Back in Dec a partnership was announced between SBI Ripple Asia and various credit card companies, including Saison Card:

And now it has been announced that Saison Card is forming a partnership with Grab, a very big rival to Uber in South East Asia:

Unfortunately Google translate makes a real mess of translating this document, so I can't really understand it. But there does seem to be some potential for Grab Financial Services Asia/GrabPay to use Ripple.

An Internet company / sharing app!  This definitely is an exciting find @PunishmentOfLuxury

Here's a quote from the first linked article:

The PDF document discloses information about Grab's business -  it's consistent with the Wikipedia page:

I have downloaded the Grab apps during my visit to Thailand 2 months ago. It is basically a must have app to live in Bangkok. The taxi driver there like to quote you a inflated  price instead of looking at the meter. But the Grab app will estimate a price for you like Uber, if you think it's reasonable then you can make the order. However, the payment inside the app didn't exist, literally you pay cash every time. If Ripple can build in its payment channel into the apps, it can for sure capture a lot of Asian users as well as tourists from Europe and the US.

I had no problem paying for my Grab rides in Thailand with my European credit card a few weeks ago. I think this link-up is about moving GrabPay into new areas outside of the ride-hailing market.

Sounds just as bad in South Haven, MI (USA). 30$ for a 10 minute ride lol.
