Guest
Ok, So my mate asked me to buy him some zerps a few weeks ago whilst he was waiting to get verified on Bitstamp so being the good bud I am I bought him his zerps and he paid me for them, Now, he has his account all verified and ready to rock "n" roll so I go to my account and put in his new address for xrp and the Tag but every time i click on Withdraw I get this error message in red around the Destination xrp Address, "Only external withdrawals are allowed. Provide a different address" Any advice please guys as i would like my mate to have his new zerps in his account as soon as possible. Thanks. Might be able to send to your nano and then from nano back to Bitstamp.
Guest
Hi mate and thanks for the reply. Yes I also have a Bittrex account but all my mate has is a Bitstamp account so would it be worth me sending it to my Bittrex account and then from there to his Bitstamp account? Do you know why they don't accept internal transactions? Cheers.

Guest
Totally strange that i am unable to do an internal transaction but the Bittrex account has gone straight away Thanks again

Provide a different address Get your bud to set up a wallet (eg Toast) and send them to him there - then he can send whatever he wants to his own Bitstamp account. tulo
The reason is technical. Because since Bitstamp has only a single deposit address for XRP (with tags), it's impossible at network level (RCL) to do a self payment of XRP.

Correct - you need to create a triangle with another wallet.
Guest
Thanks everyone. I just found it strange but yes when i checked the address it was the exact same as mine apart from the tag hence why it won't transfer, I had never tried to send to another Bitstamp exchange so had not come across this issue before but now i know to send it out first then back to a bitstamp account.
