T8493
According to Ripple Charts there was not even one trade on ETH/USDs pair in the last two weeks: https://www.ripplecharts.com/#/markets/ETH:rcA8X3TVMST1n3CJeAdGk1RdRCHii7N2h/USD:rhub8VRN55s94qWKDv6jmDy1pUykJzF3wq?interval=4h&range=2w&type=candlestick https://www.ripplecharts.com/#/markets/ETH:rcA8X3TVMST1n3CJeAdGk1RdRCHii7N2h/USD:rvYAfWj5gh67oV6fW32ZzP3Aw4Eubs59B?interval=4h&range=2w&type=candlestick Is something wrong with Ripple Charts or the volume was really zero? Maybe I'm looking at the wrong orderbook or something. Edited August 31, 2016 by T8493
Morty
@T8493 make a small trade and see if it shows up.
jn_r
Most trades are against XRP. for ETH/USD the autobridge trade tend to be the best and they show up in the XRP/USD and XRP/ETH orderbooks, not in the ETH/USD orderbook
xtrapower
Liquidity and volume is such a massive barrier right now. I wanted to use Gatehub to buy ETH several times but always decided against it because of the horrible orderbooks. There are very few trading pairs on the RCL which are actually usable. oxygenforex
oxygenforex
It's also a barrier of entry for new gateways to issues new assets into Ripple.
jn_r
The daily movement of ETH on poloniex was last 24 hours 3%. The spread in the orderbook XRP/ETH is 1%. I don't understand why you find this orderbook horrible

At least it is something If you want to acquire a small amount of ETH, the liquidity is imo good enough. (where liquidity is the possibility to exchange value and volume is the exchanged value). Can allways be better of course. Compared to poloniex there is a difference of 0.5% and sometimes the markets on ripple are even better. btw. when I look at ETH/XRP market, range 1 year, interval 1 month, then I see the averages are more than 5000USD per day over the months May, June and July. Not sure about August which is a lot less. Maybe data is not aggregrated yet or there really was less trading in August (+/- 900 USD per day) Edited August 31, 2016 by jn_r T8493
