If you have a "secret key" that you must type in every time on gatehub to make transactions then yes gatehub is not hosting your wallet. If you had a gatehub hosted wallet then they would have your secret key for you. Gatehub, in addition to being an exchange, can also function as wallet software (aka a piece of software that lets you make transactions on the Ledger using your secret key). Check out my thread about what wallets actually are and what they're not explained in non techie terms:

I am wondering, how can someone be sure that wallets like Rippex and Toast are really safe?

I like the Rippex one (looks exactly like the old wallet from Ripple) but I am afraid to use it.

I have a Gatehub account. But I have a Ripple Wallet there, not a wallet hosted by Gatehub.

They stolen my XRP’s - they precreated ripple wallets - when you open create a new ripple wallet in their client - they precreated 1yr before so they have the private keys and that moment the new created wallet was a watch wallet ( blocked) I can not used it then I asked enej for help and after two months they unblock my wallet but empty my XRP’s - they send it to ubiq debit cards to withdrawal . Be careful

Do you have transactional proof/evidence of your allegations?

This is serious scary stuff

Does someone know a way to have Enej clear this serious allegation here publicly??? before their already worsening reputation becomes far worse than just a PR nightmare. Intentional theft by an exchange will lead to the shutting of its doors permanently

I created in gatehub client
And only used there where else and only uses once to deposit the300k XRP from one of my ripple migrated wallet to gatehub to divesify the risk and not having all in that wallet - I was newbie didnt know how to verify - it was a precreated wallet by them since 2014

What else you need as a proof( or you work for gatehub) don’t tell me that crap even ripple compliance team help me to find out what they did with my xrp’s. They stole my XRP . I have all the info to prove it and is in investigation.
