Paid position, USD or XRP your choice.

How much do you pay, where do you operate from, what exactly do you need (programming languages used, expertise, timeline...), what's your real life credentials?

We're looking to build a coin on the XRP ledger that can accumulate interest. If you know of anyone up for the job, let me know!

This sounds intriguing!  A token that will add more of itself based on positions of ownership?

This has potential!  :yes3:

So how are you planning on executing it?  I'm very curious about the idea.  :JC_thinking:

Meh... some of this information shouldn't be on the thread @Sukrim

"real life credentials" ?   No thank you.  That's for a PM, not an open thread.

Well, real life credentials can be: the name of the company, where it is registered, the CEO name....not the name of the child of the CEO, how old is his wife, the race of the dog of the CTO :)

Fair enough... I'll let the OP figure it out.

If you want to hire someone, it might be useful for that someone to know who you are... doesn't have to be your blood type and the name of your firstborn, but something like "we're a startup in city X with 3 people so far, here's our website and contact info, I'm the founder named Stephen" is already much better than "money is paid for work".

As a reference: It is illegal in my country to do post job offers that don't include salary for example.

If you need a simple IOU that every x days (or seconds, months, etc) if owned by some accounts, those accounts receive more of that IOU, then a few code lines will make the job, probably 3 hours of work for a developer knowing ripple API. Not worth the job, because it's more in losing time to organize the payment, etc...

If you need something more complex, can you provide the details here?

This is a coin for a gaming site I run. It's not a salaried position or anything, I was hoping to pay high 3 or low 4 figures. The desktop client we can take care of, I just needed someone to help me with the rippled flags, but now I see interest isn't possible on the xrp ledger so I'll look for other solutions. I hate to go to xlm but that may be my best bet.

So about an afternoon at most of dev time.

Custom currencies are possible, but there is no support (any more) for displaying them correctly or calculating their actual current value.

Since when does Stellar support interest on IOUs?! You best bet might be a custom smart contract/ERC20 token on Ethereum I think...

I guess I don't understand why it would be impossible to issue interest on IOUs.

An account can issue more IOUs, yes? So long as you don't set asfDisableMaster. And account holdings are transparent. So we could go through and check account holdings, and issue interest as needed. At least that's how it works in my head.
