Assuming all the code has been programmed, deployed onto server, and everything is set up.. just that it's got no users just yet.

Just curious how much you guys would value such an exchange + domain. Any input would be appreciated!

You can't seriously put a price without a full detailed specs, can be 20k or 100k...an exchange is a very complex application that requires a serious project management behind, it's not a one man job  and you have to add maintenance costs and everything, it's putting together a company, saying all the code has been programmed is half of the job...

@StreamlinerThat's millions $ investment. You better look for partnership with people that can inject money and sustain the project development. Plus you need to have a very good team and Excellent BUSINESS PLAN. TRUST is very important here which means you need a solid IT team. You realize that you would be handling other people money.  But it's a good idea and the key here is to get people that are willing to invest in it. Another way is by Initial Coin Offering. Anyway you will need the starting capital. Is an Exchange with XRP as base currency in the making??????? B)

The cost for the code audits alone would likely be higher than the cost to buy it.

Also the legal costs are probably also much higher than the costs to develop the code.

Lastly I'd need to see performance and compliance tests first before even thinking about any valuation. Bitcoinica was written by a 16 year old on a weekend in Ruby...

You are absolutely right and I think the same.

I would just add that I think the price for an exchange with proper project management and legal setup could be beyond $100k. What do you think?

Thanks for your input. Yes, XRP denominated exchange in the making :)

Not sure about an ICO though. We are planning to make our exchange XRP denominated and not necessarily our own coin denominated like Binance. So unless there is a real need for our own coin, I don't think we would necessarily go the ICO route. We are not interested in just raising capital, sitting back and relaxing. We see a real need for an XRP denominated exchange. We may not even list BTC at all.

However, we are open to working together and to consider any potential partnerships or offers from investors as well.

Howare you planning on developing the app? Frameworks, styling etc. ?

Was talking to a supposed US attorney on here recently regarding an exchange as it was always an idea. Massive potential issues around security, trust, etc.

Don't want to land yourself a million dollar law suit!

Many people think their work has value, when it doesn’t. Many people think their idea is superior, when it isn’t. Many people who think they should sell at higher price, are left emptyhanded.

No plan is perfect without execution, no software is nothing on its own, nothing is nothing.

Options are many for those who are in the game, for many who think they would like to contribute to this society.

For many... the game is over before it starts and it ain’t about thousands, not millions. It’s about commitment and execution.

Success lies in those two!
