Gatehub - Problem Unlocking Wallet

Recommended Posts

I can log in to Gatehub without problem, but when it comes to the second step (unlocking the wallet), I often find myself frustrated. I enter the password, click to unlock... and nothing. I've had the same problem using two different computers and a tablet, and it's driving me insane. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I think they are doing something on gatehub, I cant put any order at all, it says please wait for long time.

Yes, I finally managed to log in and now I'm having the same problem placing an order. It says "sending... please wait." It's said that for several minutes.

 I miss Ripple Trade.

Hi GateHub here. We have been experiencing some problems with the ripple network. We are very sorry for any inconvenience and are now working over the clock to fix the issue asap. Thanks for being patient.

Hi @cap

we solved the stability problems of our rippled late yesterday so everything should work normally now.

Thank you very much! We are doing everything we can to make ripple easy to use and will continue to do so in the future.

@enej: it's good to hear that the issues were solved. The rippled/C++ team would be very interested in learning from your operational experience and understanding what we can do to make it easier to operate a rippled server. We have a lot of data of from our own operations, but there's no such thing as too much data.

@nikb Thank you, we will gather the logs and configurations about it and send it to you. I must say the latest version of rippled works much better, we have done an update in these days.

So keep up the good work, much appreciated :)

Well, I just don't see this as "b2b" per se. Sure, I could have reached out to them in private, but why?

It is no secret that we want to make rippled easy to operate! We want to understand pain points that others may have. Posting here is a good way to reach out not to Gatehub, but to other rippled operators as well, some of whom may not be businesses.

We value the feedback, whether it's from our own operations team or from other operators. When they speak, we listen and have made a number of changes to address their feedback. For example, as a result of feedback we have:

  • improved the way rippled handles situations where the number of available file handles is too low (47eb4da0);
  • changed the automatic restart mechanism inside the server (fee19390);
  • worked to simplify the config (095f85f1 and others);
  • provide useful warning (6f81d2e4) and error messages (fdd1f2ec); and
  • much more.

Bottom line: I think that openly soliciting feedback from anyone running rippled - and getting it - is a good thing!

I think there was a general assumption that the relationship between @gatehub and Ripple was stronger than it apparently is. The closing of Ripple trade initially signaled some sort of handoff and that Ripple and GateHub continued to work together to make the handoff seamless suggested that they might be continuing to work together. If that had been the case it would have been odd to see Ripple and GateHub communicating via a forum (rather than by email), especially since Chris Larsen is personally invested in Gatehub. Now it seems that Ripple is not giving GateHub any special attention.

You assume that this is the only way that Gatehub and Ripple communicate.

If I had wanted to reach out to Gatehub directly with this message, I could have. I chose to reach out here because it affords me the ability to reach not just Gatehub but the larger number of rippled operators - some of whom are individuals and who may be reluctant to reach out to us directly about their real-world experience running rippled.

I'll grant that my original message could have been a little clearer - mea culpa. I didn't intend to make it seem like I was only interested in the feedback that Gatehub has, but rather in the feedback of all rippled operators, as I explained in my follow-up post.

I see this post from last year. I have the same problem. I can easily log into GateHub, but then when I want to place an order, I get a pop-up asking to Unlock again (Open Orders) and it just won't go. It's the same password as for logging in, I assume.
Did your problem get solved? Anyone else having this problem?

This is not an issue and by design. It is the same password as log in
