Marksayers77
Hope someone finds this useful. Hardest thing I found was to actually buy XRP and cost me in the mistake of using Coinbase to buy BTC as fees were so high. Wish I had found this first ok yes it’s probably not the cheapest way but I wanted my hands on some XRP as fast as possible. Opened a gatehub for a wallet to put them in. (Not the easiest took them nearly a month to verify me but found you can still store XRP unverified) then got my card out and ordered XRP from https://changelly.com an hour later I had my first XRP

Kiir
I'm not trying to spread false info, but I *did* read some posts regarding changelly and alleged scams or whatnot. What I'm saying, search a bit before about it (or anything, really) and make your own, educated decision. As with everything, be careful. EDIT: Just as a mini disclaimer: I am neither for nor against changelly. I don't know about them, really Edited January 4, 2018 by Kiir

BostonXRP
Since the price is low I wanted to make a small XRP purchase by Credit Card through BitStamp. The Verify by Visa process was declined. This happened last month with the same card when I wanted to purchase my first $500 worth of XRP. I needed to call my card holder who then enabled the transaction at their end which allowed my transaction to go through. So tonight I thought I needed to follow the same procedure. When I called them tonight they told me as of Feb-1 they do not allow crypto currency purchases on their card. They are concerned about identity theft. This is the only card that I have that can go through the Verify By Visa process which BitStamp requires. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on other ways to purchase through BitStamp? Yup, Credit Cards across the globe are getting banned as the lenders don't want the risk of people buying crypto and skipping out should the market take a true crash (not dips like right now). I had the same issue with a coinbase transaction, but with my debit card. I had to call my bank to have them allow the transaction. Using Bank wire is the fastest, but bank deposit is the easiest/cheapest. Using CCards and Debit have exchange fees, bank fees, and a 3% conversion fee if the exchange is in another country. My bank would charge a $40 fee to wire money to BitStamp seeing that it's an international business. Kind of expensive for the small purchase I want to make this time around. What's the process for "bank deposit" is it the same as "wiring" money? Can anyone recommend a good exchange for XRP in the US that doesn't require "Verify by Visa", I can try to use my debit card. CCLookout1
The cheapest, yet not fastest way to get XRP would be to open a coinbase account, just link your checking account (I recommend setting up a separate checking account that you don't use daily, easier to track your progress for tax purposes and reduces the risk of getting hacked). Once linked, you should be able to either deposit cash (takes 7 full days) or you can buy bitcoin/ether/litecoin with your debit card instantly (with a small fee of course). Then transfer to Binance with one of the pairs and (like BTC) and buy your XRP. Hope this helps, if it does, please use my referral links below. Essentially, if you buy over $100 on coinbase, then we both get $10 of BTC. Edit: referral links removed. Yes, same thing happened to me. First purchase for $1500 went through immediately. Every purchase attempt since has been declined. The message I get says my bank declined it but they have done everything on their end to help me complete the purchase but no dice. I spoke to a Bitstamp rep on the phone who said they were updating the site and to try back in 24 hours. 3 unsuccessful attempts over the next few days since has me over it.
