Elyk23
I believe I read something about a month ago that any wallet you use to hold your ripple in must contain at least 40 ripple at all times. Is this true still? Is there a possibility that will not be the case in the future? I personally think that is a smart way to help ripple grow but that is a chunk of my millions i will lose when time comes to cash out.

ryanlucci
It's 20. If ripple ever got to $100, you would be without 2000 dollars of your millions. You'd need at least 20,000 xrp to make the plural "millions" true. It will be 20 until whenever Ripple decides to change it which may be never. Also, I encourage you to think through the investment a bit more. Holding XRP is not just about cashing out. That kind of philosophy creates bubbles, corners markets and can lose someone a lot money. Better to hold/buy/sell over time, where your research backs up the investment. Nobody cashes out millions in a few trades. Perhaps you were just being cheeky and in that case I don't mean to sound so serious. Good luck and welcome.

Millions is unrealistic for my case as I only have 117 point something xrp. I would of had 4k+ xrp but I was having trouble getting into the market (authenticating accounts and what not) when I had the funds ready to invest at 20-30cents then I lost that money to the casino... Then I saw it rise within a week to 90cents and figured out how to get into crypto and buy ripple, so I told myself now or never and invested only what I could afford which was way south of my initial investment. Kicking myself for not getting in sooner with more capital but oh well im happy with the news of only 20xrp being held and a growth of $3 since then. Since I only invested about a hundred into this I am more likely to be putting in more before taking out. I am so excited to see how much this will be worth in a few years from now. I don't want to make any predictions but seeing it rise so much so fast kind of makes me dream of it hitting the 1k mark within 10 years or so. Also it will make ripple so hard to get into if it ever did hit 1k that is 20,000 dollars that would go poof if you wanted in right? I guess this really will be for the banks to use rather than the average Joe's like us.
ryanlucci
Not necessarily. No one knows at this time how it will play out. Don't be discouraged. All I mean to say is, holding investors buy over time and sell over time. You hope to cash out before it goes 'poof', or not cash out as it continues to hold its value or go up. It's also new technology with plus points that other coins don't have. Don't worry about banks vs Joe's. There's no such thing Happy investing. **edit** I feel your pain. After months of believing my XRP funds purchased in 2013 were gone forever, I finally located my secret key and recovered them. With the price rise over the last month, I was sick over it. I truly hope you are able to make a good investment with Ripple. Edited January 4, 2018 by ryanlucci didn't see your first response
Elyk23
Sorry what I mean is for the new comers to get in when/If it hits 1k per ripple. Because for a new comer to get in when it's at 1k per ripple that would mean for someone to hold a new ripple wallet they would need to invest $20k that would be virtually useless, assuming you have to hold 20xrp in your wallet at that time. Which in that case only the wealthiest investors could get in. Im not worried as I have invested my "$20k" and then some already.
