engine44
I have a Bitstamp account in my name. My bank account is a joint account with my wife. I understand that if you want to move cash from Bitstamp to your bank account, the names on the two accounts have to match. Would the Bitstamp computer consider my situation to be a name match? Not sure about that, but on a related note, maybe don't deposit to your regular joint account. I have bitstamp too. My plan, whenever I decide to sell and cash out, will be to open a new checking account at a different bank than my regular account for the deposit. Then once it has cleared move it as needed into a third account, for example, a savings account. This is good for tax purposes (it's a clean record to look at) and so that you have an account that has no other purpose but Bitstamp, in the unlikely but still possible event that Bitstamp's financial records ever got hacked. Here in the US this has happened too often, so I'd do it that way for security and tax purposes. BTW, I am ****** off that Bitstamp credit card purchasing does not work any longer for US credit cards because US cards mostly do not have "3d secure" Edited January 3, 2018 by MarcusAurelius
engine44
Thanks, but I live in Europe and don’t want to open another account if I don’t have to. Edited January 3, 2018 by engine44
NoFoMoJoe
Bitstamp does take credit cards from the US. I used one on 01/04/18. When they added the 3D Secure I did the research and for mastercard its called secure code found here. https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/consumers/payment-technologies/securecode.html . And for a visa card its called Verified by visa and you have to call the number on the back of the card and ask to be enrolled to verified by visa. Now with all that said I have had more luck using my mastercard.
