Help with Gatehub account Trustlines and Activation

Great news everyone.  Someone on here was so nice to help me with getting 20 xrp into my account to activate and set trust.. Once I was able to do that 2 hours later my BTC was in my wallet  All was done on my phone (samsung 6s edge)  Took 1.2 weeks to get that all figured out and countless emails to gatehub.

So these are the steps I took to do all that:

  • Open Gatehub account
  • I verified all my information, even if it wasn't necessary since I used cryptocoins (btc)
  • Went to coinbase, transferred my BTC to my ripple account that was provided on the gatehub account (on the home screen, there is a DEPOSIT/RECEIVED button - click that)
  • Press on the currency you wish to deposit - i used BTC - which gave me a address - copy/paste that address to my coinbase
  • WAIT FOR 1.2 WEEKS, sweated a little bit, probably pulled my hair and emailed Gatehub asking where my money is
  • Finally received an email stating I'm missing my trustline
  • Try to figure out what the hell was going on with trustline since I kept on getting an error.
  • Went back on here and spoke to someone that had the same problem as me, he then sent me 20 XRP to deactivate my account (this was the luckiest part of my whole interaction)
  • After that 2 hours later, my BTC was there.
  • Was able to exchange the BTC into Ripple at $2.23 which ****** me off since it was $1.30 last week and also a 0.20% fee to exchange which is insane... but what are you going to do now, wait another 1.2 weeks....
  • And Tah-da.. and now we wait for it to get to $100 HAHAHA
  • And transferring back the 20 xrp to that someone who helped me out! Best guy ever!

And those my newbies, are the steps that I took.  I highly recommend that you put in 20 xrp or find a real sweet person that will trust you to send 20 XRP to help you deactivate your account. After that is a waiting game and a bit of frustration waiting on your money to get to your wallet, then suck up the whole part that you lost money and then losing with the fee!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

PS. don't just randomly ask on here to send you 20 xrp.  Mods will close your post and every veteran on here will ream you a new one.   Speak to others and gain a rapport, and hopefully one will be nice enough to help you out.

xoxo

They're showing you how much your wallet is worth in XRP. You have .6303 eth, which would give you approximately 258 XRP if you exchanged ETH -> XRP on Gatehub.

FYI - you need more than 20 xrp in your ripple wallet if you want your gateways to work right.  you need 20 xrp JUST for your ripple wallet to be active, but 5 xrp for each gateway you set up, and 5 xrp for any open trade you have at gatehub

which is what i thought. however, when i go to exchange, there is no option for me to convert any ETH to ripple.

Hi, I am having the usual problem. The wallet is not activated. I transferred ETH to my wallet today. Getting emails from Gatehub saying missing trustline. Not able to enable trustline. Getting the dreaded "unknown error" message. So, here I am. Can any good Samaritan transfer 20 XRP to my wallet so that I can get my lost ETH into my Gatehub wallet? Needless to say I will return your XRP immediately.

Thanks!!!

He people,

I was sweating like a horse, but it seems more people have the same problem. Perhaps an idea to lock transfers until you have put 20 xrp on your acoount. anyway, I was wondering if someone could help me out as well. I will refund the 20 xrp plus 10 extra. I Look like a noob, wich I am, but learning as the days go by :)

tnx!

@vchopra and @PancakeHero- please re-read this part of the OP. Removed your wallet addresses

When I created an account with gatehub,  I didn't know that some crap gets deducted from my available balance for enabling trust lines.  When I later realized this,  I decided to disable most of the trust lines thinking my available balance will increase.  But this wasn't the case.  I have sent several queries to support, but no reply.  If there's anybody here who has experience with this issue,  please help me with some insight on this.  Thanks

It just reserve an ammount which should stay in your wallet.

Standard activation is 20XRP and for every trustline 5XRP.

So say you have 2 trust line you need to have a minimum of 30XRP staying in your wallet.

So if you have 90XRP you can only play with 60XRP.

That is how I understood it.

Thanks for this reply.

If I disable the trust lines,  will it have any effect on my available balance (the amount I can play with)?
