erik6421
I was very active with Ripple in 2013 and 2014 and acquired quite a few XRP doing the computing for good program. In order to have high security, I had a hot wallet and a cold wallet. My cold wallet was never migrated to ripple trade, nor was it migrated to gatehub. Now that I want to access my XRP, the username / password combo at https://id.ripple.com/auth/migrate isn't working. Because I knew that always worked for me in the past, I never worried about my secret key, which seems to be missing a character. Is there any way at all to retrieve a secret key other that the https://id.ripple.com/auth/migrate website?? I can prove that I own the account, I have access to the only other account to put XRP in. I have 14,000 XRP locked up that I worked hard to get. Any one who can help me get access to these will be GREATLY rewarded. From where in the secret key is the character missing? Is it the last character, or could it be any character that is missing? How long is the key? Do you have any seed or other info, or just your old login credentials?
Prometheus_Rising
Hi, Ripple secret starts with an s, and is 29 characters long. the base alphabet is rpshnaf39wBUDNEGHJKLM4PQRST7VWXYZ2bcdeCg65jkm8oFqi1tuvAxyz. If your key is only 28 characters long you could try with each of the above alphabet to substitute the last digit. Failing that you try to find a programmer to regenerate the checksum part of the secret key (last 4 digits) you could set up minimalist ripple client on an air gapped computer, or run from a Ubuntu CD, or some other secure way to test your secret key combinations. (google how to do this). I had a problem with "minimalist ripple client" that cut off the last digit of the secret key. I used the above method to fix my key Good luck! rBsHiUS4TaC2UckHj8YW6hiQSUQfsBp77i p.s. please don't post your partial key on the internet I take no responsibility for the above suggestions

I just have a 28 character long code written down. I'm not sure what you mean by seed. I have a ~256 character long code copied down labeled "ripple wallet" that I have no idea what it is. Maybe a blobvault file?

amulecregg
I think I can help you, but the only way for me to do this requires that you trust me the partial secret key. So when you are about to give up with this, just contact me. I'll be glad to give it a try.
ScottBranson
@erik6421, here is what you get when you generate a new ripple wallet: "account_id" : "rEbDdnf4pVhDjW7L5RqyRye2qnq8R6bJMP", "key_type" : "secp256k1", "master_key" : "AD SUN HULK HIVE FOOL TED FEAT LATE ADAM CORK HALT CUE", "master_seed" : "sspiWf98C77oYk6EGj7SNZSPn2aVu", "master_seed_hex" : "1832A9352361957E7F48784C72D68700", "public_key" : "aBPtXZmFKJn5MjaJwpKYFoo4QxJ6g2iwQu9CVZwwifvr8YRcRSGb", "public_key_hex" : "02FE5EF49903DC12C4A51546FB2B1620FB124A7DF597B5F9794EE726CDC3B7EC84", The account_id field is the wallet's public address. If you have the master_key, master_seed, master_seed_hex, or a password that was used as a 'seed' when the wallet was created, you can access the funds. Do the values that you have seem to match any of the above fields?

rdot
Erik, I had the same situation as you. I used my old password to login but it wasn't working. You do not need your secret key. You DO need to work with ripple labs though to recover. You should contact Ripple at support@ripple.com or Julian@ripple.com (not sure if Julian still works there) It took me about 10 day for Ripple to verify my identity. You'll have to correctly answer some questions. I failed the first time because I didn't recognize that one of the addresses they were showing me was actually my moms address, so be careful - you only get a few tries. Note near the end the website that they sent me to: https://id.ripple.com/auth/register Hope this helps! I have included my email chain so you can see the process. Funny though how it seems ripple (Julian ) didn't want to help, but keep at it: Me: to Ripple: ============== Jul 10, 5:10 PM I use to go to ripple.com and login to my account/wallet. How do I do that now? Do I have to go through rippletrade? I tried my login there too but it didn’t work. Thanks =================================================== Julian Martinez (Ripple Labs Inc.) Jul 13, 10:02 AM Hi John, Thanks for writing in. If your name and password no longer work, and if you haven't logged in for a very long time, you may have a pre-migration account. Unfortunately, we are no longer support migrations; we apologize for the inconvenience. I'm not sure if there are still wallets out there that can import that format. In theory though it should contain your account secret (securely encrypted with your username and password).
