Marlon
Hi guys, Anyone have experience trading XRP through HitBTC? I’ve been slowly building my stack over the past few weeks and have a good amount of XRP to finally transfer to a wallet, and for the last couple of days HItBTC says “currency operations not available” ONLY for XRP, not any other coins, when I try to move them from trading account to main account, or try to withdraw them and send em anywhere. Checked around reddit and it seems a universal issue, and now I’m freaking out wishing I’d used Binance, and wondering if the exchange is even legit. Support tickets never answered, and my whole stack is sitting in my exchange account unable to move anywhere. Anyone else been through this? WrathofKahneman
fwiw, Binance is claiming XRP withdrawals are delayed, too.
Sukrim
Lots of services seem to use s1 or s2 in their backend... https://ripple.com/build/rippled-apis/#json-rpc "These public servers are not for sustained or business use, and they may become unavailable at any time. For regular use, you should run your own rippled server or contract someone you trust to do so."

Seems that no one has been able to withdraw XRP for close to a month now from this exchange though.. so might be a combination of the public servers and something internal with HitBTC. Happening now with other coins there too, and chatter on reddit about the whole exchange folding is starting to freak me out.

Delays I can deal with, these guys just disabled all operations of withdrawing XRP, for weeks now apparently. You can’t even attempt to move your coins out. People calling it a scam on reddit has me thinking to sell my whole stack for ETH, withdraw that to Binance, and rebuy XRP. I cant think of any other way to get my $ out.. n00bee
Any resolution here? I have been hearing if similar issues with this exchange. Walls seem to be up with XRP.

Walls seem to be up with XRP. My gut told me to get my $ off that exchange, and couldn’t find a resolution either. So I sold all my XRP on HitBTC for ETH, immediately withdrew the ETH to binance (it’s a flat fee for ETH withdrawals came out to around $7 and change), and traded it for XRP again there. Took about 35 confirmations on the ETH block before binance made my funds available, about 15 min, and I was watching the charts praying the price didn’t spike. Luckily bought back in for almost the same rate I sold, but between the trade fees and withdrawal fees ended up with about 20 XRP less. Cutting my losses though- would rather have access to my stack minus 20 coins than lose the whole thing on a poorly run exchange. *should note that I tested this whole process with a small amount of XRP before doing it, so ended up paying the withdrawal fees twice. Small price to pay IMO.

Kloppos
I can confirm the issue on hitbtc, but its not exclusive to XRP. I am waiting since mid december to be able to withdraw or trader at all. Seems they have bigger issues since december and trying to contain this problem now, but the FUD is already out as thousands of users cannot withdraw, deposits not coming in etc. Personally I am trapped right now, so it currently works as an escrow for me
Mpolnet
I've had asset issues with HitBTC for the past month. NEO has been a big issue for me as they haven't allowed me to move the asset to the trading wallet and they aren't letting me withdraw so I can trade is on another exchange. Seems like they've been having issues the past month or two.

Yeah that’s the plan, and preparing to send them to wallet was how i first found out that HITBTC had made all currency operations unavailable. Was planning to send them to a toast wallet, but now after all this decided to go for a Nano instead and currently just waiting for it to arrive. I have another friend whose coins are locked up in their main account too, though since mid November. Mine never made it to my main account, frozen in trading account since I bought em, which I guess turned out to be a good thing since at least i could sell em. On a possibly related note, I noticed along the way that Blockfolio, which I use to see updated prices of everything on different exchanges, has never had a current feed price for XRP from HitBTC for xrp/usd pairings. All the other exchanges feed their prices into it in real time (guessing it’s a server to server thing?) but HitBTC doesn’t seem to send out any info for this pair, even though it’s traded on the exchange. It’s always listed as $0. Could this indicate it’s something internal?

I mean it seems they are doing this to thousands of people.. and still accepting deposits but then not allowing $ to be withdrawn seems fishy..
