laneman
Hi everyone, I have read the beginners guide many times and am still stuck. Was trying to get started but the companies like Gatehub, Kraken, etc had bad reviews. Found Binance with at least acceptable reviews but I don't even know what Binance is. Can I buy XRP on Binance? This should not be this difficult. I just want to open an account and buy XRP. Any help appreciated
Guest
Everyone seems to like Binance and as far as I'm told there is no cumbersome id verification process to get started, although I think this limits your daily transactions. I think the only problem with Binance is that you can't buy directly with USD and instead need to exchange BTC, ETH, etc in order to acquire. For all these sorts of questions, Youtube has lots of good intro videos.
WrathofKahneman
It is very difficult, if not impossible right now. Binance is an exchange, meaning, you cannot purchase XRP there with USD, either credit or cash. You can only trade various cryptocurrencies. It works pretty well, so the real bottleneck is in finding a quick way to purchase cryptocurrencies like BTC or ETH which can then be traded for XRP on Binance. Unfortunately, places like Coinbase, Coinmama, Bitstamp and Gatehub that allow you to purchased any crypto are so backlogged verification is taking weeks. This has led some people to use sites like Paxful to purchase BTC that they can send to Binance (make sure you open a Binance acct first so you have address to send to!). It is a long way around and potentially more expensive, but there is sadly no real way to get in other than wait for one of the big exchanges to verify you. There are other methods of procuring crypto - peer to peer selling sites that match you with a seller, but again, these are expensive and have a reputation of being dodgy some times. WrathofKahneman
Yes, I s'pose so. I haven't seen one so am unfamiliar. Anywhere you can buy BTC or eth is a golden doorway to all the other Cryptos right now.
at3n
But remember that Bitcoin transaction fees are high at the moment, so don't use Bitcoin as the intermediate currency if you're only investing a small amount. Ethereum is much cheaper. WrathofKahneman

Any help appreciated I know I'm going to sound rude and unhelpful but you are aware that google/youtube can answer any and all of your questions right? If you don't want to put in the effort to learn then you're going to be dependent on other people to help you every step of the way including when it comes time to cash out. I've used and will continue to use Coinbase and Poloniex to buy and sell my XRP in the future. If you want to use sites that don't require any verification processes then you'll be sorely upset when the time comes for them to either do so or be shut down via government intervention. On a side note, why are you only interested in XRP now? Is it because of the mainstream news or have you actually done the research and come to your own conclusion? laneman
Thanks for the replies.. Trying to find one method that uses companies with decent customer reviews. Have read multiple accounts of buyers getting ripped off and burned by poor service.
Guest
I'm a newbie and this is my process so far that's worked. Buy BTC or ETH on Coinbase with CC card for immediate availability. Send to Binance. On Binance convert to XRP. Once converted to XRP, send to offline wallet. This is a total pain. My question is, if I want to buy a large amount, 6 figures, what is the quickest way to do that? The reason I ask is because I'd like to secure XRP prior to it going on Coinbase as I think the price is going to skyrocket once it's on Coinbase. If anyone could help that would be great! MegatronVI
Same as mister ford, that's what i did (more to learn than to actually buy XRP) Here is a great video: Coinbase to GDAX to binance
