Popular Post Mercury
Hello all! As some of you are no doubt aware I have recently released gold, silver and bronze medallions. More can be read here: There has been steady interest, and following encouragement and support from those in the first batch I have decided to go ahead with a second batch. This batch is NOT released yet and is NOT available for pre-order as of yet. The target release will be sometime in spring 2018 and will be available via a dedicated website. Due to some issues that arose despite best efforts with the first batch there will be some slight changes. The current medallions in the tri metals will no longer feature a loadable wallet option. The medallion weight, precious metal content and design will remain the same. These medallions will form the Moonies Collection and the collective minting amount will remain at 2019. A forth medallion will be struck. This one will be bullion grade silver and feature the same finish as the others. It will however be larger (1/2 or 1 troy ounce) and have the option for a wallet to be added. This medallion will feature a new design and not be included in the Moonies Collection. Besides releasing a general announcement that there will be a future batch in spring 2018 I am also looking for some help designing the new medallion! Rules: The new medallion will be roughly 30-40 mm in diameter Must feature a clear link to ripple and/or XRP Clean and simple designs (metal is uni colour) Must be original I would like to promote XRPChat and the 2theMoon project, but they are not mandatory Must be royalty free, copyright inclusive and be willing to sign off all artistic merits, etc (means the design will become exclusive) I reserve the right to reject and review all designs (for obvious reasons) If there are some strong contenders I will decide on the top three and release them for voting. Prize: Winner gets the first minted medallion for free! Void-Induction, Malloy, GreyAndroidGravy and 10 others 10

ScottBranson
I am not great at Photoshop, but I was thinking something like this (re-read the rules and realized it had to be uni-color)... I still think it would look bad*** in silver and it builds on the original design My bad for not thoroughly reading the rules... Edited December 23, 2017 by Rabbit_Kick_Club Re-read rules uni-color Mercury

I am not against dual colours per say, but there are some additional concerns. Pricing goes up of course with dual colours via the various methods out there (bi-metal *only a few mints can do this*, gold plating *cost* and enamel *cost and lower quality looking*). If there is a massive support for a design by the community I can price options, would probably be gold plating to maintain the premium quality. Mercury
Found one of the original OpenCoin contests for coin designs. All wining designs are open source I believe. https://forum.ripple.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3401&hilit=coin I am sure some of you have seen these in use around the web ScottBranson

Gold plating would be beautiful on the right design, but it also messes with the whole bullion as an investment side of things. Mercury
Since someone asked- yes, designs can be contemporary and not in the traditional 'coin' model. Ex: If the below design had the Ripple logo worked into the hair. Most designs usually have meaning or some form of story (ie. Lady Liberty). I think if the logo can be recognized at a glance and that the piece tells a story- go for it Khaleesi

Mercury
Not sure @JoelKatz would be comfortable with his face on a medallion Is the revers the logo over mountains? Xrphunter

CryptoGerrie
@Mercury , What is the format for your coin? Do you want it to be in PSD, PDF, AI? You talk about unicolor. but the other design you like has two colours.
