Secure your GateHub account

GateHub

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

to secure your accounts we urge all our users to NOT reuse their passwords and to turn on two-step authentication.

You are strongly advised to set up 2-factor authentication (2FA). This is an additional security measure to ensure you are the only one who can access your wallet. Below are the instructions on how to set up 2FA.

  • Download the Authy or Google Authenticator app to your mobile device.
  • Login to your GateHub account and navigate to settings -> security -> 2FA and turn it on.
  • Open your authentication app and scan the on-screen QR code.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process.

Once 2FA is enabled, you will be prompted to input the verification code generated by the authentication app on your mobile device.

This step will provide a higher level of security for your account.

I did it long time ago, but I always wondered what happens if I lose the phone?

I have only Ripple Accounts and their secrets, but still can be annoying...

Hey tulo,

according to Authy, this is what you do if you lose your phone:

Quote

Go to: https://www.authy.com/phones/reset. After you buy a new phone simply re-install the App and all accounts will be synchronized back.

Google Authenticator App addresses this here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/1066447?hl=en

The page says its off, there is no place to turn it on or am I missing something?

It's been a while, but I had to do two things - in addition to using authy, I had to download and install a qr scanner for it all to work together.

Hi, could you please tell me what's the error message you receive?

Thanks

Hi, I input the code, it shows saving for like a split second and  then that the code was wrong. Tried both authy and google authenticator for scanning the qr code but the code in get from the apps constantly shows up as wrong in gatehub.

metalcaptain I replied to you on the other thread. It's not as simple as that.

You should have a google authenticator recovery code, but probably you didn't save it?

You can also look at:

or you can try to contact Gatehub.
