Jmcconnell
I just realized I invested in ripple in early 2014. I have my phrase, wallet username, and my secret key but never wrote down the source of where it was purchased (Mom brain at its finest). I just looked up “ripple” in my email and saw a notice from justcoin in late 2014 that they were closing down. Please tell me good news that this wallet, key, and username means I can still obtain my investment from another source. HELP!!

If you have a actual Ripple wallet and the secret key then you are fine. You can look at the wallet public address using a ripple explorer and see what the balance is. Type in your public address to the input box: https://bithomp.com/explorer/

Type in your public address to the input box: https://bithomp.com/explorer/ What do they mean by ripple address? I have my “phrase” “wallet username” and “key”. Unfortunately I believe this is the only information I have. In addition, at this point I’m unsure if I purchased the XRP from Justcoin or Snapswap. I just found emails from 2014 from snapswap as well. I’m wondering if I purchased some Litecoin from justcoin and snapswap was where I may have purchased the XRP. I’m so angry with myself for making these “out of sight out of mind” and making this so much more complicated than it should be.
Guest
Don't show it here but do you have a secret key? Starts with letter S. about thirty chars long. If you do then you are all good. You can use a online wallet like Theworldexchange.net or a phone app like Toastwallet or install software like the Rippex wallet. Security issues are for you to investigate. I'm not recommending any wallet. But all Ripple wallets will let you enter a secret key and will start operating on that Ripple wallet. So do you have the secret key? Jmcconnell
I just found out I never activated my account from 2014. I found out because when I typed in my key at world exchange, it showed up as not yet activated. It directed me to bithomp that showed my address. When I clicked to activate it said the server was down for maintenance. I have a couple questions: when I activate it, will it provide me with the XRP rate that I purchased back in 2014 as opposed to its rate today? Also, is there another way to get the ball rollig to get this activated other than bithomp? I have my phrase, wallet username, secret key, and now my address. EasterBunny
So you can log-in at theworldexchange with your address (starting with 'r') and secret key (starting with 's')? If your successful at this point, you should be able to see your account balances. If you see a memo in the upper right hand corner that reads: "Your account needs >= 20 XRP." That would indicate that the account was never activated.

I’m so new to this so my apologies if I’m asking a studios question but does that still mean I purchase XRP back in 2014 and I just never activated it? When I activate it, will i receive XRP at the rate that i originally paid for it?
EasterBunny
I remember justcoin, but I don't remember how they held users funds. They could have held accounts in a 'hosted wallet', in which case your funds would have been pooled with many others'. It may be difficult/impossible to recover at this point. I'm sorry to bring bad news. Maybe someone reading this may have some thoughts.
Jmcconnell
I found out that I purchased some Litecoin through justcoin not XRP. I’m assuming (and hoping) since I did not purchase it through them, I can still get it up and running. On the worldexchange it was able to pull it up when I typed in my key but like I said to my surprise it said I needed to get it activated. Unfortunately bithomp is currently down for maintenance. Do you know any other sites where I can find out by typing in my key or address?
