Cluelessjames
I have no idea what I'm doing. I have tried to deposit some BTC into my GateHub wallet to buy XRP with. Transaction is confirmed with Coinbase. However I have no idea where to find it in GateHub. Should it just appear in my wallet? (which still says it is disabled) I joined GateHub to but XRP and I have none to put in to activate it- I am really confused.
Guest
It should appear soon, transactions with BTC are far slower than with XRP, in addition Gatehub is getting huge demand at the moment so a little slow also as I am with them too.

Great, thanks. Once the BTC shows in the wallet does that mean the wallet will be activated I will be clear to go ahead and buy XRP?
Guest
Yes the wallet should activate when it is funded, but go ahead and create an XRP wallet too, Gatehub should activate that for you with 20 XRP.

It is a ripple wallet that is showing as disabled. This is the wallet I sent BTC to.
Guest
You cant send BTC to a RIPPLE wallet, you need a BTC wallet too. You exchange your money for BTC and send to the BTC wallet, then exchange BTC for XRP which you send to the XRP wallet.
Guest
The transaction from Coinbase should in theory fail as the BTC is attempting to go to an XRP wallet, contact Coinbase and try to correct this but set up a BTC wallet first so they can send to the correct address. You have to be very careful when conducting these transactions...
Broke
Im in the same boat as James just that I did ETH instead. The TxReceipt Status says Success and its doing block confirmations atm. I've already emailed Coinbase about it. Man buying XRP aint easy... Does GateHub even have a ETH wallet. Its not an easy page to navigate... Edited December 14, 2017 by Broke

Cluelessjames
I figured that because when you click the deposit/receive button in the GateHub wallet and it then lets you choose the currency and then gives you a wallet address to send it to that it would be ok. Can't see how to set up a BTC wallet in GateHub?
Cluelessjames
According to the GateHub instructions it looks like me and Broke did it right? To send funds to GateHub from a 3rd party wallet or service provider: First you create a wallet, if you haven't already. Click Wallet on the left, then select the wallet you want to deposit into (blue drop-down menu at the top). Click the "Deposit / Receive" button at the bottom. Select the tab that corresponds to the currency you want to deposit (Ripple, Bitcoin, ETH, ETC, REP). Connect a corresponding gateway if necessary. You will be shown a cryptocurrency address. Use this address in the wallet/service where you want to send the funds from.
Broke
Yep seems idiotic that the UI allows you to generate an ETH/BTC adress to an XRP Wallet. Coinbase just says transaction is Complete but nowhere to be found on GateHub :/
Cluelessjames
I can't see any way to actually create a BTC or ETH wallet in GateHub. Is your wallet still disabled?
Broke
Yes, requires 20XRP to be activated but even then I dont think the ETH I sent to it would show up, would it?
nUmetA
I am confused as well. If Ripple's default wallet does not support BTC, why is there an option in the wallet itself to deposit BTC? It even lists a minimum amount if BTC that it will accept. I did exactly what Cluelessjames did. Purchased BTC on coinbase, and then deposited that in my Ripple wallet. Coinbase says the transfer is complete, but I have no BTC. Did I really just lose $300 because of a poorly built UI?
